  1. Gentlemen,

Something new from Wolfpak this release has in addition to the two sheets of contemporary subjects two additional sheets of World War II ones.  Here we go!

Sheet 72-096, East of Eden:  First of all on this sheet all subjects were based in New Guinea.  Starting off is a P-40K followed by Neel Kearby’s P-47, Fiery Ginger.  Next is a B-25D from the 3rd BG, Runts Roost.  For something different we have a B-25H from the 418th NFS that was used ’s in the night intruder role while waiting on their P-61’s.  Can’t do WWII without a Gooney bird.  Here is a C-47 used as a hack by the 90th BG complete with their skull and crossed bombs tail markings.  The Hawaiian Air Depot painted several B-17’s in a locally developed camouflage pattern.  Our next subject is one of these aircraft as it appeared in 1943.  Finally we have a famous B-17 that has been the subject of even a TV show.  The crew on one mission of this aircraft to this day has been the most decorated crew in the history of the USAF.

Sheetr 72-097, Rumble in the Jungle:  The first subject on this sheet is a P-40N used as a “Red Air” aggressor for training the 418th NFS crews in combating day fighters.  A P-39 flown by a reconnaissance unit follows.  Back in the day many aircraft were fitted with cameras and used as recce planes.    The Black Window on this sheet is once again from the 418th NFS.  The two B-25 subjects are from the CBI theatre.  The first one was used in China and the second from the famed “Burma Bridge Busters.”  From Australia is a short wing B-26.  Wrapping up this sheet is a B-24 also from the CBI theatre.

The sheets will cost $17.50 and should be on sale early next week.

World War II is a new subject area for Wolfpak Decals.  I would appreciate your feedback on what you like and don’t like about these sheets as well as any suggestions for future subjects.  Sht%2072-096%20Color%20Instructions.jpg

  2. Gentlemen:

Here are the two modern releases from Wolfpak Decals this month.  They are accompanied by two World War II sheets that can be found in the props forum.  Now for the sheets:

Sheet 72-098, On Guard:  Up first is a F-89J from the Iowa ANG followed by the option of building one of two F-86H’s.  The first one is from the mobilized Maryland ANG during the Pueblo Crisis.  This one surprisingly uses “CT” tailcodes.  The second F-86H being from the New York ANG at Syracuse.  A Euro I painted A-7D from the Pennsylvania ANG is the next subject complete with chaulk noseart.  A F-16CM in the new HAVE GLASS 5 paint scheme is next.  Last but not least is a C-27J from the Mississippi ANG from 2012.

Sheet 72-099, The Grim Reaper Cometh:  Starting off the sheet are options for one of two F-100D’s in SEA camouflage from the 48th TFW at Lakenheath.  These are followed by a F-4E from the 50th TFW at Hahn and a AT-38 from the 435th TFTS at Holloman.  The next subjects are options for one of two F-4D’s also from Holloman AFB.  From an earlier period is a B-26C in gloss black from the Virginia ANG.   A much requested subject, a Navy E-6B completes the sheet.

The sheets will cost $17.50 and should be on sale early next week.  I would appreciate your feedback on what you like and don’t like about these sheets as well as any suggestions for future subjects.

  3. Gentlemen,

Here is the August 2016 release from Wolfpak Decals. Other real-world commitments will keep me from attending the convention this year. Enjoy yourselves. Here’s the sheets:

    Sheet 72-094 Shaken and Stirred.

First subject on the sheet is an OA-37B of the Air Guard unit at Willow Grove NAS. It is followed by the CAG jet of VAQ-209 Star Warriors . The next aircraft is the commander’s jet of the 525th FS, an F-22 unit. From the Marines, a MV-22B with a double-oh seven modex with appropriate artwork. An AH-1W of HML-269 follows. For the modelers who like test aircraft the YA-7F with markings for both contractor owner test operations. Last but not least a MQ-9B from the California Air Guard.

    Sheet 72-095 Jokers Wild.

For the fans of sharkmouths a F-15C from Oregon with one on it along with the option of a F-15D from the same unit. Interestingly they have the same last 3 digits in the serial numbers. I guess mottled would best describe the pattern on the next aircraft. It’s an EA-6B of VAQ-142 with a grey camouflage pattern. The next jet is an EA-18G with both Navy and AF squadron markings. The Navy being VAQ-129 and the AF, the 390th ECS. The first of the two B-52H’s on the sheet has in my opinion one of the best gallows humor noseart around with the skull superimposed in a mushroom cloud. I seem to think that’s from artwork of an album cover from the 70’s but haven’t found it yet. None the less it’s a boss bird from the 69th BS. Probably may favorite none-cheesecake noseart of the modern era is the one titled; “The Last Laugh.” Here are two slightly different versions carried on a B-1B and B-52H.

Sheets will be on sale on Wednesday August 3, 2016 Happy Modeling.

  4. Gents,

Thanks for the kind words. The F-100F has a different serial number than that on the earlier release. I have added a HH-60G serving in Afghanistan from Kadena AB. Forgot it when I compiled the instruction sheet. I have a partial order of the cheeks but need to update the website and package them. They should be on sale tomorrow or Thursday.

  5. Here are the new sheets of the July 2016 release of Wolfpak Decals:

    Sheet 72-092, Shifting Sands:

First we have an OA-10A of the 23rd TASS from Desert Storm with Porky the Pig nose art. This is followed by an OV-10G+ from 2015 operations in Afghanistan. You will need to scratch build 4-blade props for this one. A F1EJ of the Royal Jordanian Air Force from 1986 is the next subject. From Desert Storm we have the AMP modernized gunship grey F-111E that flew one mission from Incirlik. A HH-60G serving in Afghanistan from Kadena follows. Options for two Iranian F-14As follows. Back to Desert Storm for a F-117 with weapons bay art and mission marks. The last subject being a B-52G from the 379th BW also from Desert Storm.

    Sheet 72-093, Jammin

A Vietnam War F-100F Wild Weasel starts this sheet followed by a B-1B from the 319th BW with Jessica Rabbit nose art titled Top Secret. The next two subjects are EB-66Es of the 19th TECS and 39th TEWS from Kadena and Spangdahlem ABs respectively. You have enough decals to do both. An EC-135C equipped with the MILSTAR dome (available from Spectre Resins) follows. The last subject on the sheet is an EC-135G radio relay aircraft assigned to Grissom AFB.

The sheets will retail for $17.50 and be on sale shortly after July 4, 2016.

    Sheet 72-090-

To start you have the option of doing one of two RF-101Cs in ADC grey. The first from the 45th TRS at Tan Son Nhut AFB and the second from the 363rd TRW at Shaw AFB. These jets are followed by a F-4E of the 34th TFS at Korat in special markings for the Tiger FACS. Id like to thank several of the Tigers for their help. A Marine A-4C from Chu Lai is next. This one is from VMA-223 and carries a fuel tank with the name; Chu Lai Rum Runner. A special Ops O-2B, Pure Hell is next. This aircraft operated from Nha Trang. Sheet 72-091-

This sheets starts off with a Marine F-4N from VMFA-531 in the markings used during operation Eagle Claw the mission to rescue the Embassy hostages in Tehran in 1980. The first is a F-105F and the second a T-39F both from the 4537yh CCTRS at Nellis. The Saberliner was used to train the EWO for the two seat F-105. There is one Army unit, the 229th Aviation Regiment that lays claim to the Flying Tigers lineage. Our subject is an AH-64D assigned to this unit complete with sharkmouth and the original Flying Tiger artwork. To round out this release is a MC-130E from Kadena AFB with Pterodactyl nose art.

  8. Gents,

I was talking to the rep from Kinetic at the Nats in Columbus last year and he mentioned that their marketing analysis was that they should do a 1/72 C-17. Does anyone know what became of that?

  9. Gents:

Here is the December release from Wolfpak Decals:

Sheet 72-087 – The Devil Made Me do It

First up is a F-15A from the 433rd TFS with the squadron devil’s head on the tail band. This is followed by a F-4D of the same unit but during the Vietnam War. This particular aircraft was shot-down on a strike in which it dropped an AGM-62 Walleye. Took a lot of research to get this one and it’s load-outs. A Red Devils,VMF-232, FJ-4B from 1958 is next. I chose the operational markings rather than those one the museum aircraft. The Michigan ANG Red Devils and the New Jersey ANG, Jersey Devils are represented by the A-10C and F-16C on this sheet. Finally a bit of a change a sharkmouth EA-3B from VQ-2 with the famous "The Don" trademark of the Sandeman sherries and brandies that are made in Jerez/Spain just some 20 miles from Rota AB. (Thanks Joerg!)

    Sheet 72-088 – A Drop of a Hat

A choice between a F-106A and F-106B from the 94th FIS in 1961 starts of this sheet. The markings are from the period before the NORAD insignia was carried on the right tail and includes the Hat in the Ring markings on both sides. Next are two F-35A’s from Luke AFB. You can model both the 56th FW and 61st FS commanders’ aircraft. The next choice is between two F-111F of the Mad Hatters, the 492nd TFS from Desert Storm. Both aircraft have mission marks. To round out the sheet is a U-6A Beaver from the 444th FIS.

    Sheet 72-089 – Checkmate

A F-102A from the 102nd FIS of the New York ANG in SEA Camo with colorful markings starts of this sheet. Big thanks to Jim Szabo for the photos of his VF-211 F-14A from the Kittyhawk in 1983. A F-18A++ and F-18D both of VMFA-314, the Black Knights are next. The A++ is the commander’s jet and the D a line jet which is unusual for a Marine single seat unit. Up next is a White Knight from the 70th TFS in Euro I colors. Last but not least is the commander’s F-35A of the 34th FS, the first combat coded F-35 unit.

    Sheet 12-15 – Thank You

As in the past I like to say thank you to my customers for your patronage. The Thank You sheet this year is full size and includes the following:

There are two F-4D’s from the 704th TFS of the Texas ANG. This unit experimented with a variety of camouflage schemes and here are two of them. The first is the standard Hill Grey scheme on the left side of the aircraft but with a gunship grey vertical tail on the right side. The second one moves the neutral grey-gunship grey demarcation line forward to almost the radome giving the aircraft a overall dark look. The 58th TFTW experimented with high visibility markings on the early F-15A’s. Here is the one with the orange and white D-Day stripes. Big thanks to by good friend Jim for the photos. A more mundane TA-4J aggressor follows. The last subject on the sheet is a three tone grey camouflaged RA-3B from VP-61.

Sheets 72-087, 88, & 89 will retail for $17.50 USD. Sheet 12-15 is free with the purchase of $35 of decals, excluding shipping. They should be on sale in a few weeks. Next up will be decals for the 48th scale crowd. Can you say ram?

    Thanks.
