This thread should be moved to General Discussion, it has nothing to do with the aim of "Research Corner".

Maybe you can have a look at this: http://www.arcforums.com/forums/air/index....t&p=1650693 regards Davide

I will try to complete an Eastern Express MiG-29 SMT in 1/72: still deciding whether to buid it OOB as the prototype #917 or modifying it to represent the ex Algerian now serving in the Russian Air Force. By the way, anybody knows a sort of match for the latter's three grays? Dont' worry, I will miss the deadline anyway, as I did for the Red Star Group Build! Cheers Davide

Hoping it was not posted already. Lots of details. Here's the link. http://scalemodels.ru/modules/photo/viewcat_cid_378.html Cheers Davide

I'd suggest: B-52 Ageing BUFFs, Youthful Crews - Osprey Colour Series Boeing B-52G/H Stratofortress - Aerofax Datagraph 7 B-52 Stratofortress - Squadron Walk Around N° 6 B-52G-H Stratofortress - In Action 207 for drawings: http://www.airwar.ru/other/draw/b52h.html http://www.airwar.ru/other/draw/b52kr.html http://www.airwar.ru/other/draw2/b52h-2.html bye Davide

This is a good site also: http://www.angelfire.com/dc/jinxx1/BUFFs/BUFFs.html

Yes, although for parked aircraft most of the times I've seen shots of the Italian IDS with wings at 45°. Example http://www.airliners.net/photo/Italy---Air...;next_id=NEXTID Ciao Davide

If you want to be more general, they are all (leading edge, trailing edge) called "high lift devices". The F-104 and some late MiG-21s had "blown flaps" (with no slots), on which the flow is energised by engine compressor air, more effective but more complex than multi-slotted flaps. II Warld War split flaps (like on the Sptitfire or FW.190) were nothing more than airbrakes, with minimal effect on the lift coefficient, still they were called flaps. To be practical, if everybody understands that a slat is always on the leading edge and never on the trailing edge, why should one care to call

Xtracolor does a Boeing Gray that seems a good match, I've used it on a 727: http://www.hannants.co.uk/search/?FULL=X301 regards

Find a few walkaround sites where you will find static wicks details: Walkarounds on Scalemodels.ru (such as this: Su-24) Walkarounds on Airforce.ru Walkarounds on Photoka Best regards Davide

Not sure it will help, but this page: Americo Maia's Site might give some hint, although you'll have to convert from Humbrol to Tamiya paints. Davide

How is BlackShark's frame rate, in relation to the configuration of your computer? I am very interested. Thanks Davide

Yes, unofficial mods... but so good. I have played Falcon 4 since it came out 10 years ago from Microprose, and in a few years the code was leaked, so that modders started with tweaks, the most important being the "fly any plane" mod. Sometimes it's fun to do carpet bombing with a B-52 to hit a bridge, or skimming the sea at 500 kts with a Su-24 to do a SEAD mission.... Note that Falcon 4AF was created by a company which bought the rights from Microprose, and added most of the rest from the work of the same guys that had previously developed the mods "unofficially". Having flown both LOMAC and Falcon 4 (plus many other sims), I'd more or less of the opinion of StevenJ, although Jonathan's right in saying that Falcon is more "steady" (when you finish your control input, the aircraft stays there, no apparent inertia) and LOMAC is more fluid: also more difficult to control precisely, at leat with my joystick. As Steven said, Falcon is also a strategic game, with a war in the air, on ground and at sea. The secret is a concept that unfortunately no other developer has followed, the one of the "bubble". If you are not flying, watching the situation from the

Thanks, the search engine is very specific and if you don't type the exact words (mig-25pd without space) it will give uncertain results. Davide

I have just received the weekly Hannants new arrivals newsletter, and it announces the ICM MiG-25PD, specifying "new tool. Not the Condor kit". Does anyone know more? I checked this forum, but I was not able to find any other topic on this kit. Davide

That's what I read in some book on the B-1 too. By the way, if Steve is seeing 3/4 sweep, it means that they have some rule to prevent tipping (no fuel in the wings, for example). Gary, I like your picture, are you a fan of Steve Vai? Davide

Nice pics and walkaround of the Cormorant on your site, Sean, but please replace the name of the manufacturer with the correct one: AgustaWestland. An Eurocopter aircraft of this class will exist in 10 years time, if ever.... Davide

Obviously you don't want to understand, and prefer to blame Trumpeter rather than your local importer. A couple of yers ago, I bought the Trumpeter Tu-160 in Italy, from a shop for 98euro (price was the same in other Italian shops), then I discovered that the same kit was advertised by a French shop on a French magazine for 88euro. There is no reason for the difference since when goods reach Europe, they all cost the same. Taxes are the same. The only difference is made by the importer, and the French one is simply a bit more honest (or a little less greedy) than the Italian one. If Chinese

Nice shots Paolo. Last year the NH90 has taken the Italian Army designation of UH-90. Davide

Totally agree. One thing that a lot of people don't seem to understand, or to want to understand, is that the selling PRICE the customer has to pay to buy something, sometimes has some relationship with the COST of those goods (the amount of money that was needed to produce, transport and market that something), sometimes there is NO relationship. Most of the times the PRICE is made by what YOU - the customer - are prepared to pay for that item: in other words, by what you think that item is worth. Do you know how much Lexus gains on every car sold? 70% of its COST. In the case of Trumpete
