  1. McCoy. Awesome build. I hope mine builds can start looking as solid as yours in the future!!!
  2. McCoy, This is an awesome build - especially since you did it by brush. I also have this kit in my stash. It is good to see what aftermarket stuff you added. I generally don't use aftermarket stuff, but some of these I may go with.
  3. WOW . . . .I hope you got room on the shelf for that bad boy!!!!
  4. Thanks for the additional feedback. Since I am still new I thought I would experiment some more. After looking at some old photos of very dirty tanks I redid some of the splatter and this is what I ended up with. Again it may be a little excessive, but it is fun just trying things out.
  5. @Tornado - Yeah, I know they say you are your worst critic, but it was definitely hard to get the wet mud over dry mud thing to look right and to be honest I am not completely happy with it. I thought of putting some wet mud on a brush and just shoot air at it to get a spatter/flicked up effect. But, did not want to over do it. I still may give it a try and see what things look like. @Bun - I have used washes before. Believe it or not there is actually a light dark wash on the thing but when I put the dry mud pigments on top it kind of minimized the dark wash effect. I also noticed th
  6. Yeah I can't wait till Saturday. One of the perks is though I a PhD student I still get student tickets . . .
  7. Here is my Tamiya Panzerkampfwagen II Ausf. C; 6th Panzer Division, French Campaign (1940) This is my second armor and like my 5th big boy build. Someone said my last armor was not weather enough . . . so this one has been through several mud pits. I appreciate the kinds words, but any feed back would be welcomed - I just find that people on ARC are friendlier than on other forums!!
  8. Just saying . . . any other college basketball nuts out there?
  9. Here is a cool site with a lot of the variants you can use. http://www.wwiivehicles.com/germany/half-t...s/sdKfz-251.asp
  10. McCoy that is funny. As I am finishing up on my Panzer II I was trying to decided what kit I was going to do next and the Sd. Kfz. 251/1 was what I was going for. This is the kit I am doing: http://www.tamiyausa.com/product/item.php?product-id=35020 And the camo design (there are a lot) is the second from the bottom: http://www.momentscapture.com/aviation/gpx...f=4&t=21520
  11. I think this is the third post this week were I have seen Triarius recommend a spraybooth . . . which I recommend if you have the money for one. As stated above I recommend acrylics, but I know enamels have their benefits as well. I have had to put a heater in my basement near my modeling area so I don't freeze my butt off.
  12. Just wanting to know if there was any other feedback on the NEO? Though I am probably going to go with a Revolution or Eclipse I am still getting pulled toward the NEO especially with that 40% coupon!
  13. Thanks Don!! I used an Aztek as well and sometimes the tan tips can be a pain if you do not adjust the air pressure a little higher then normal, I set it to about 25 psi. I am thinking of buying an Iwata Revolution CR or the HP-CS.
  14. LOL . . . I fail at typing. I meant a debonDer. BTW when I was in Japan I just spit out the bones.
  15. Okay I know I am lazy . . .but can you give me an example of a deboner?
  16. Mike, Hey great job man. I just finished a 1/35 Tamiya version, but mine does not look nearly as nice as yours!!! http://www.arcforums.com/forums/air/index....p;#entry2104334
  17. Hey Curt, First welcome. I am rather new myself (about 1 1/2 years) and can tell you ARC is a great resource. Check out Don's site it has a lot of great info. I use an Aztec AB and primarily Tamiya acrylics (though I am thinking of getting a revolution). For cleaning I use Windex which does the job pretty good . . . better then the MM acrylic cleaner that they sale. I also tried rubbing alcohol once to see how it would work and it did just as well. Also . . . do buy a respirator!!! BTW . . . what are you planning for your first build?
  18. Great job on he Oscar. Did you use salt or tape to get the weathering effect?
  19. Hey great build. Are you thinking about doing any other paint schemes with the Oscar? I have an old Otaki kit waiting in the wings so it was god to see yours.
  20. For the exhaust I actually put some on a q-tip and then go over lightly where I want the exhaust to be. Then I lightly get another q-tip wet and just touch up where I want it. Then I just put a clear coat over it. This looked pretty well last time I did it. http://www.arcforums.com/forums/air/index....71&hl=frank
  21. I saw this on Spruce Brothers and man I think this would be a fun fit . . . please post update pics as this thing has to be massive
  22. Awesome plain!!! I been looking at this plane, but I got a Betty, Dinah, and Rufe waiting for me!!
