  1. There is already some Vallejo Color gloss on the lenses. I think I will add some more! Thanks for the tip I didn´t noticed the flat look!
  2. Thanks! Today I finished the cockpit: I assume the brownings were removed on this particular aircraft. The radio/gunner area looked empty without the guns. Therefor I decided to add a pilot figure ;-)
  3. Thanks! It was an enjoyable built. I really liked the detailed wheel well area with the included oil tank. I only needed some putty on the fuselage underside assembly.
  4. Thanks! No I never built the Tamiya Wildcat. I like the hobby boss kit it´s very detailed and rather easy to build (only the fuselage underside/cockpit floor need careful working). Unfortunately you only have the option of a closed canopy.
  5. Hi! I recently found an old dragon FW-190 D-9 kit from 1991 at my cellar. It was a fast weekend build in between two bigger projects. The kit decals were unusable so instead I painted most of the markings. To bring some life into the scene I added a little pilot ;) thanks for looking,
  6. Here are some pictures of my recently finished Wildcat Midway defender: It´s an out of the box build, only the markings are painted on (except the 25´s). Any comments and/or critiques are welcome, thanks for looking
  7. Yes you are right. You can buy the Italeri kit at around 25€ =34$ here in europe. Accurate Miniatures kits were always more expensive and very hard to obtain here in Austria.
  8. I started with the cockpit painting: Next photos will show the completed cockpit
  9. The Italeri kit is a 2008 reboxing of the very well detailed Accurate Miniatures SBD-5, with an additional bonus: a big decal sheet (5 different planes USN, USAAF, 2 French, NZ). It´s also cheaper than the original release.
  10. Hi! I´d like to join this GB with a 1/48 SBD-5 from Italeri. I think it will be an OOB build, I only plan to add PE seatbelts. I think you all know the standard Tri-Color SBD´s so I am building something different like a weather plane from NAS Jacksonville in spring 1945 in NMF: http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:SBD...nville_1945.jpg It would be great if anyone has more information about this plane, Looking forward to an enjoyable GB!
  11. Thanks! Yes it´s really big! I saw a P-38 last year on an airshow, really impressive!
  12. Hi! Here are some pictures of my finished 1/48 Hasegawa P-38: You can find the WIP thread here: http://www.arcforums.com/forums/air/index....howtopic=212885
  13. Here are some pictures of my finished P-38: More pictures in "The Flightline!!" thread. It was a great, enjoyable build! Thanks to all for looking and the nice comments!
  14. Sounds cool! I have a B-17G and B-17F in 1:48 in my stash and some aftermarket items I collected over the past years (Engines, flaps, PE,....) Its time to build at least one of these birds!
  15. Here are two pictures of the pilot. The head and legs are from the Tamiya navy pilots set and the arms and torso are sculpted with Magic Sculp. I still have problems with the display base, it doesn´t look right :)
  16. Thanks! I used a silver ink pencil for the chipping. Not much update this week. I reworked the exhaust stains (added some brown-black on the edges) and started with the display base and pilot figure.
  17. I remember the F-105´s were brought to F-105D-25 RE configuration in the project "look alike" which started in 1962 and ended in 1964, but I don´t know if the scoops were part of these series of modifications.
  18. Here are some pictures of my Eduard Profi Pack P-39 in 1/48. The little guy next to the plane is from an old Monogram kit. thanks for looking,
  19. Painting is almost finished (the exhaust stains need some rework) and the decals are on the plane.
  20. In the Italeri 1/48 Aircraft Support Set (Number 2629) is a tractor included. With a little Modification you can build a civil tractor out of it... Edit: Ups! just read mkimages post! The Italeri set is the one from Esci!
