  1. Here's my MPM 1/72 Meteor F Mk8 with Israeli marking from Extradecal. Enjoy
  2. Looks great, good work fella. What did you use for rigging? cheers MisterFriend
  3. Hello Can anyone help me out with some decals for the Matchbox 1/72 Siskin. Mine were so old they disintegrated and when I tried to save some of them with decal film the colours ran, which was weird. Cheers Segan
  4. Here's my completed build Monogram 1/72 F4B-4, Starfighter Decals, Scratch-built interior, rigging added, minor details on engine too. Great little kit, really enjoyed building this. May do another yellow wing (Helldiver, Devastator or who knows!) later on. Happy New Year
  5. Thanks chaps. I've finished it now. I'm going to take some better pictures when we get some daylight here. Hopefully in the next few days the light will be better.
  6. Unfortunately not had as much time as i would like on this recently but finally added the top wing an done the rigging. First time using EZ-line for rigging, works great but not sure about the colour. The only colour references I have for rigging are two museum birds, one seems to have silvery wires in the other they appear quite dark. hmm. As far as I can tell this plane had the antenna mast but no wires, if anyone knows otherwise please say. Hopefully finish this before Christmas, fingers crossed. That large grey mass in the background is Monster the one eyed cat who sometimes likes to em
  7. Thanks Just did some of the decals. The Star Fighter decals go on like a dream, will definitely use their stuff in the future. Nice and thin without being brittle. Needed a little bit of softener over the corrugated tail but that was it. Putting the wing stars on after rigging as they will go over the little holes I've drilled for that. Added fuel lines to the engine (they are almost invisible) and painted the prop tips. Going to add the engine after rigging as there are a couple of tricky cabane strut wires that will be easier without the engine there, in theory. Also made a new windscree
  8. Cheers Fellas Not had a as much time as I would have liked to work on this recently but I have managed to get the basic painting done. Decided to paint all the true blue stripes as then they will match the blue engine cowl perfectly.
  9. I've decided to paint it in the colours of VB-5 on the USS Lexington. Willow green tail and true blue stripes & cowl.
  10. Hello John Thanks for the heads up. Just did a little test fit and on one side shims will definitely be needed but weirdly on the other I need to sand the tops down as they currently pop above the wing surface. Odd.
  11. I've put it all together, goodbye interior! I left the tailplanes off as it will be easier to paint them separately. Minimal filling, just a little bit of Mr Surfacer and a light sanding and...voila!
  12. Thanks guys. Managed to finish the interior this weekend. This will probably be the last time most of this is seen! It's a great little kit and it's seems to go together really well in my test fitting. My only little gripe would be the amount of visible ejection pin marks. You can see some at the top of the cabane struts. In total I think I've counted 28, mainly on the wings and various struts. All easily filled/sanded, except for a couple of tricky ones, and it's still a super little kit.
  13. So I cleaned up the interior, removed the socket where the figure of the pilot fits in and some copyright info. I'm going to scratch build the interior. Starfighter decals do a very nice, by the looks of it, resin interior for this kit but I'm on a bit of a budget and didn't want to turn my cheap Ebay find into an expensive multimedia kit! I've added the odd bit of cockpit detailing to WWI planes in 1/72 but this will be the first one I've done from scratch, including the seat. Here is the progress pic so far. All from card, strip, rod and a little bit of brass...oh and a PE wheel from the s
