  1. I have used Model Master Acrylics for years without any problems. If you use good prep work and clean the plastic I use 70% Isopropyl Alcohol and you can clean your airbrush with it, you should get a nice results. I have even mixed Future in with the Model Master Acrylics with great effect. Most Hobby stores that I have been to will carry Testor's and Model Master paints and supplies.
  2. Just got back from the Dollar Store with a whole bag full of modeling supplies. Yes cheap modeling supplies all for a dollar each. I got Masking Tape, Blue Painter Tape, Clear Tape. Varies kinds of little Clanps and Clips. Varies kinds of small Containers and Plastic Bins, Paper Towels and Cleaning stuff. A whole wealth of modeling stuff could be found there. Just remeber it is cheap so beware, most will be fine for every day modeling use. So check it out if you have not been to a Dollar Store
  3. I think the cockpit color comes down to who built the aircraft. Curtiss, Bell, Republic, Boeing ect all had a different interior color and in the field the color may be whats on hand. Even the color will vary from batch to batch. So the color is up to the modeller, it's your plane.
  4. I just step up to my first double action airbrush and got a Grex Tritium TS with the pistol style trigger. It's was easy to use the first time out. and to clean.
  5. I have gotten good results useing Polly Scale Clear Gloss Acrylic and there clear flat is real nice to.
  6. I would like to thank the forum for all of the kind and helpful words.Being new to posting on internet forums, I did not know if using a larger font would be appropriate. I will do so in the future.
  7. TO ALL I MEAN NO DISRESPECT TO THE FORUM. I HAVE FAILING EYE SIGHT AND IT'S VERY DIFFICULT FOR ME TO READ LOWER CASE TEXT. YOU SHOULD SEE THE GLASSES I HAVE TO WEAR JUST TO SEE TO DO ANY KIND OF READING OR MODELING.I HAVE TO SEAT INCHES FROM THE COMPUTER SCREEN JUST TO SEE WHAT I AM TYPING. I AM TRYING NOT TO GIVE UP MODELING AS I ENJOY IT SO MUCH.
  8. IF TYPING IN CAPS IS AN ISSUE THAN I NEED NOT POST ANYTHING OR VISIT THIS FORUM OR WEBSITE AGAIN. ALL I WAS LOOKING FOR WAS MODELING HELP. THANKS FOR THE PAINTING INFO ANYWAY.
  9. OK, THE KIT IS PEGASUS'S AREA 51 U.F.O. THE KIT INSTRUCTIONS STATES THAT THE KIT WAS MOLDED IN ABS PLASTIC. THE INSTRUCTION ALSO STATES TO US TAMIYA EXTRA THIN CEMENT OR SUPER GLUE, BUT SAYS ANYTHING ABOUT WHAT KIND OF PAINT OR SURFACE PREP.I DID A TEST WITH ACRYLIC PAINT ON THE INSIDE OF THE KIT AND THE PAINT DID NOT STICK. ANY IDEAS?
  10. HI TO ALL JUST PICK UP A NEW KIT MADE WITH ABS PLASTIC. I HAVE NEVER WORKED WITH ABS PLASTIC BEFORE. WHAT IS THE BEST GLUE, PAINT, AND SURFACE PREP NEEDED FOR ASB PLASTIC. MUCH HELP NEEDED.
  11. HEY TO ALL DOES ANYONE KNOW OF ANY METALLIC PAINT CHIP CHART OUT THERE. I AM PLANNING ON DOING SOME NMF AIRCRAFT AND MAY NEED TO MIX PAINT FOR VARIES METALLIC SHADES. I AM ASLO THINKING OF DOING THIS IN ACRYLIC PAINT. ANY OPINION WOULD BE HELPFUL.
  12. I HAVE ALLWAYS HATED THOSE CREAM COLORED DECALES. I HAVE GONE OUT AND GOT AFTER MARKET DECALES AND USE WHITE LETTER AND NUMBER SHEETS
  13. TO ALL, I WAS GOING THUR SOME OF MY OLD ACRYLIC PAINT BOXES AND CAME ACROSS SOME PACTRA COLORS AND CLEAR GLOSS, STAIN AND FLAT 2/3 OZ. BOTTLES. THEY ARE ALL UNOPENED AND STILL FLUID. I MAY HAVE GOTTEN THIS PAINTS BACK IN THE 90'S WHEN I GOT BACK INTO MODELING. MY QUESTION IS ARE THEY STILL GOOD TO USE? I HAVE OVER 30 BOTTLES OF VARIES COLORS AND CLEAR. I REMEMBER LIKING THEM BUT NOW USE MODEL MASTER ACRYLIC. I WOULD HATE TO GET RID OF THEM IF THEY ARE THIS GOOD. ANY OPITION WOULD BE HELPFUL
  14. I AM STARTING A US NAVY SYKRAIDER IN KOREA. WOULD THE COCKPIT COLOR BE GREEN OR GRAY? ANY OPINION WOULD BE HELPFUL
