  1. Hi Mike the best sources I could find were Air International magazine July 2012 (www.airinternational.com), which has great photos of various VX-23 jets, and Fightertown Decals sheet FTD48-018 which has good detail reference shots for more of the VX-23 jets. Great decals too!! HTH Wyvern
  2. Hi all thanks for the great images. I'm currently inspired to build AMT/ERTL's RC-135V as a current bird with the F108s and new antenna farms: probably 63-9792 (as we share birth years :D:- ). As part of this madness, I am considering dropping the flaps and deploying the slats. I know these things are difficult, but I'm hoping that one of you with access to a RC-135 would be able to oblige with some pictures of the "innards" behind the slat and in front of the flaps - particularly what the area between the inboard flap and the next segment looks like thanks in advance regards wyvern
  3. Hi all thanks for the replies. Helo_Dud: thanks for the link. I've sorted the starboard side upper access door - on tracks into the roof, as you've said. LCpl Underground: thanks. I note from photos that the aircraft can fly with the port front door (as distinct from the windows) removed, and that it's installed when the aircraft is secured (to prevent entry / weatherproof etc). So I figure that the door travels with the aircraft. The question is then: where is it stowed when it's not in the hole in the aircraft? It doesn't appear to be in the ceiling space (overhead?) from the photos
  4. Hi all nearly finished the 46E, with most of it open. I gather from my references that the upper half of the starboard crew door stows on tracks into the ceiling - correct? When the port side door is removed, where is it usually stowed? regards and thanks Wyvern
  5. Hi all I came across a picture of three F9F-2s from Valley Forge that had diverted to Philippine Sea and had been extensively decorated by the host crew. Does anyone have any other photos of "decorated" cross-deck visitors? It seems a good project for my Trumpeter Panther regards Wyvern

  8. The Roden OV-1B/C in 1/48th includes the option of N171, used by the US Geological Survey in the training scheme of white, red and black. It's on my workbench as we speak...... BC

  12. Hi Gary I'm doing almost the same thing - C-130H to L.100-30. For the stretch forward of the wing I used part of the front fuselage of a derelict AC-130. Aft of the wing is more complex because the section is much more square than in front of the wing. I used various pieces of the AC-130 for the stretch on one side, but I think the method that Paul Boyer used in the Fine Scale Modeler article referred to by terryt will be the way to go.
