  2. Wow! Nice job on those Blue Angels Hornets. I really like the smoke effect with them crossing. Well done Catfan! -Denis
  3. Nice discussion on CF-18 loadout and quite a coincidence as I am planning to build 769 as it was for Libya in 1/48. Looks like I have a choice between this: http://www.combatcamera.forces.gc.ca/netpub/server.np?original=24276&site=combatcamera&catalog=photos Or this for loadout: http://www.combatcamera.forces.gc.ca/netpub/server.np?original=24509&site=combatcamera&catalog=photos Refs are not a real problem since I walk by this jet almost daily. I am only waiting for permission to take a photo of the bomb stencils that are currently on it. This build will be done along with
  4. I won't have the entire Tomcat Triple Build done but hopefully the Academy Bombcat will be ready in time! -Denis
  5. Thanks Zark, I had seen that thread before but for some reason could not find it again, now it's bookmarked. -Denis
  6. This project looks more and more awesome as time goes by! Where on ARC did you get the basic dimensions for the elevator? I want to make one to use as a display base for my Tomcats. -Denis
  7. Geez Phantom, I might barley be able to get my second entry done in time. I really wish I had your talent for putting out so many models in such a short time AND with the high quality you produce. Good luck with the A-6E. I'm sure it will look great! -Denis
  8. Looking good so far. Having just gotten this kit I am watching with interest. -Denis
  9. Looks great! I enjoyed following the WIP and the final product is spectacular! I’ll be trying the salt weathering method for the first time soon so thanks for linking the tutorial from chuck540z3. With that and your excellent application as inspiration I hope to do a descent job. -Denis
  10. I have not tried it personally but, if the AM tub is for the Monogram kit then it should work for the Academy Tomcats since they are clones of the Monogram/Revell kit. I am in the middle of building the Academy Bombcat alongside two Revell Tomcats and they are practically identical. You can check the WIP here: http://s362974870.onlinehome.us/forums/air/index.php?showtopic=233048&st=0&p=2221994&fromsearch=1entry2221994 -Denis
  11. OK that's it, I quit! Time to go back to paper airplanes... This F-4 looks totally wicked. The title says 1/32 scale but it looks more like 1/1 scale. Great job and I'll be watching closely for more. -Denis Obligatory not worthy emoticon:
  12. Hi Dan, Yes they do look like great kits, and look less complicated than the Hasegawa Tomcats that I have been building lately from both scales. Just to clarify the F/A-18A is in 1/72 scale while the "C" is in 1/48. I also plan to wait for some new Canadian markings or if I can find current markings I was thinking of doing the "C" Hornet as a TF Libeccio Roto 0 jet from before the TF specific markings were applied. It also helps that I have the 1:1 jet here in Bagotville to use for reference. :) I was going to use the 1/72 kit for a practice run, but now I am not sure. Felix, Already
  13. I started back in the hobby with armour and while I agree that the KISS approach should be used I do not think splitting the Armour Forum by era would be the right way to start it off, as well as splitting it by scale. If the armour forum gets large enough to support that then go ahead, but until then I think this might intimidate any potential armour builders. I think that for now it should model the aircraft forum and be organized by type: AFV (Amoured Fighting Vehicles -Tanks, APCs Self-Propelled Guns, Etc.) Soft Skinned or Wheeled Vehicles (Usually wheeled vehicles like Trucks and Jeeps
  14. A friend of mine just moved and said he had a couple of things for me. He showed up at work and gave me these two baby's. Now to get proper RCAF decals for them. -Denis
  15. Hey everyone, I have a quick update. I got the fuselage for the Academy Bombcat together as well as the nose wheel well painted up. However there was a gap to deal with behin the wheel well and I filled it with some styrene card. Also, I had to shim the nose fuselage piece to align it with the rest of the fuselage. Here are some pics. I just got putty on the seams and will be sanding for the next while. I don't have a lot of experience with filling and sanding so we'll see how that goes. In the meantime I also have the VF-84 jet closed up and will post pics of that when I can. M
  16. Bigasshammm, Great progress so far. The cockpit is a work of art. I can see one of these kits in my future and will continue to watch the WIP with interest. -Denis
  17. Hi, I would be interested in these, still got them? 48-588 F-14A Colorful Tomcats VF-41, VF-84 CED 48210 F-8 Crusader Pt. 1 -Denis
  18. Glad to see this one done! Great work RiderFan! -Denis
  19. Przemek, As with your VF-103 'cat this VF-84 'cat looks awesome. I love Jolly Rogers birds and can't get enough, especially with the quality that you put to them. I also second a JR only page! -Denis
  20. I have these from CAM Decals and only plan to use the VF-84 set so I can part with the VF-111 decals. http://camdecals.com/?page_id=4&category=6&product_id=223 PM me if interested. Denis
  21. Got my Has F-14B from DONG last week and was very impressed with how the deal went. He was very patient and the shipping was super fast. I also got a nice surprise of AM decals (not mentioned in the deal at all)since the kit decals were yellowed. -Denis
  22. +1 Would be a good response to Hobby Boss's growing F-14 line. Denis
  23. Watching with interest! Does this mean you're not using the kit exhaust nozzles? If not I would be interested in them for my 1/32 Revell F-15E which has the feathered ones. -Denis
  24. Always loved the Airport movies. Airport '77 was my favourite as a kid. Of course I never knew the technicallities of a jumbo jet being underwater back then. Starflight was another fave!
