  1. Reminds me of Executive Decision with Kurt Russell. Has a stealth fighter that can carry a whole commando unit and secretly transfer them to a hijacked airliner.
  2. I nominate Flight Plan Especially when they show that the missing kid is in the gymnasium sized nose section. -Denis
  3. Looks awesome. Great work! I really like the subtle weathering. Did you use kit decals? This is a really nice kit to build. I really enjoyed the 1/72 'gawa cat I did in April. -Denis
  4. Glad to hear you still have this on the go Catfan. I hope you get pics up soon. I personally find photobucket very user friendly so you may want to get an account there. -Denis
  5. Don't forget about our first carrier, HMCS Warrior. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/HMS_Warrior_(R31) -Denis
  6. Cool, thanks for the answer. Keep up the good work. Look forward to seeing more. -Denis
  7. Wow looking great so far. I don't see many WIPs for Canuck Trackers let alone any Trackers, so I am following with interest. Great job on the cockpit and your chop job on the fuselage is very well done. I could never get it back together as well as you have. The same goes for the engines. I would have just left it alone but you did a great job correcting the aft section of the engine nacelles. I'm just curious, I am no experct on the Tracker but what was so different between 551 and 507 that you had to change A/C? Can't wait to see more. -Denis
  8. Undercarrage and wings are looking good! Makes me want to buy the F-111 I saw at the LHS and build it! I too would have not thought about playdough. Will have to try it on my next camo scheme. -Denis
  9. Whatever takes the longest so I feel less bad about my own output. LOL Seriously, I think think the F-5 would be a better addition to the GB since there are already lots of F-18s and A-4s. - Denis
  10. Hi Andrew, I do not know if you have a WIP for this so I might be asking a silly question, but what squadron and year is your Santa Cat. If for example you are doing the VF-103 Santa Cat there were 2 seperate times that this happened, 1996 and 2000. I have the 1/32 decals for the 1996 Santa Cat so would also like to know what you get as an answer. -Denis
  11. Hi Everyone, As promised here are some pics of the ejection seats after adding some seatbelts and the crotch (?) ejection handle and a wash. F-14A: Bombcat: And the True Details Resin seats for the F-14B formerly the D. For my first time scratching the belts and ejection handle I am pretty happy with the results. With some time off work coming up I hope to get more done in the next week or so. Thanks for everyone's input so far. Happy Modelling! -Denis
  12. Ha, Ha, interesting that you are getting an Academy A from DONG, all three kits in this WIP were from him. I will be getting the Hasegawa B from DONG in a little while too! Small update on the kits. I pulled out the True Details GRU-7A seats and decided to try scratching some seat belts for the kit seats based on the resin one. Also made the "between the legs" ejection handle from wire. Then a quick pinwash with black to bring out the details. Pics coming soon. -Denis
  13. Quick update. Ejection seats are done for 2 of the 3 'cats, the F-14A and the Bombcat. All that is left to do is a wash but since I am going away for the long weekend I wanted to post my progress and get everyone's opinions. Also, I have decided to make the F-14D into a B after realizing that the cockpit is nowhere near accurate. Plus, Catfan was generous enough to trade some VF-103 decals with me. For that model I have some True Details AM seats. Anyway here are the seats I got done so far... F-14A: Bombcat: Thanks for looking and have a great holiday week-end! -Denis
  14. Look at all those Hasegawa Tomcats! Unfortunately right now my disposable income is tied up with summer plans. Hopefully some kits will be left when I have the cash? -Denis
  15. Spectacular! Thanks so much, Don! I'll PM you my address to get a shipping quote. -Denis
  16. Hey Don, You wouldn't be able to hang onto one of the Has F-14s for a little while longer while I get the cash ready would you? Preferable the JR kit but if you can sell it sooner I understand. I'll second Phantom's remarks. Don is a great ARC trader! -Denis
  17. Ahhh, progress! Got the cockpits painted up and the IPs in place with sticky tack. I am in the middle of painting the ejection seats and hope to have them done soon. Have to take a break now that the kiddies are up from thier nap! LOL In the meantime here are pics of the cockpits: F-14A F-14D Bombcat That's all for now. Happy Modelling! - Denis
  18. Yup, I remembered that Jolly Rogers never flew the F-14D thats why I had no idea really what decals to use. Hmmmm, Black Lions or VF-31, well VF-31 comes with the kit so unless it is from the final cruise I would lean more towards Black Lions. I'll PM you later to hammer out the details more. - Denis
  19. Thanks Ken. I'll probably need all the luck I can get! Thanks Bigasshammm! This is crazy!!! Thanks Catfan. You are right about the unique challenges. The Revell kits has lots of flash and a nasty moldline down the center of the upper fuselage, yuck! Plus the F-14D upper fuselage is warped giving it a slight twist. Don't know yet if I can just force it straight when I mate the lower fuselage or if I'll try to heat it up and twist it back. As for decals, I am a huge fan of Jolly Rogers so I have no idea about what to use for an F-14D other than what comes with the kit. What decals do you
  20. Thoses bang seats look awesome. I can't wait to see more. Keep it up. -Denis
  21. Since I couldn't decide which 1/48 Tomcat to be my first, I figured that I would just do all three of the ones that I was mulling over. First up is the Revell F-14A for which I will be using the VF-84 decals from the Fujimi kit that is waiting on the shelf for an AM cockpit. Next is the Revell F-14D which will be using kit decals but I am not quite sure which ones. Maybe the TPS scheme? Finally the Academy Bombcat with kit decals. So far I have the cockpits and IPs painted grey and all the ejection seats put together. Revell F-14A Revell F-14D Academy Bombcat I hope t
  22. There are also a set from CAM #48-003, which include VF-111 decals. http://camdecals.com/?page_id=4&category=3&product_id=223 Unfortunately the website lists them as sold out but you may be able to find a used set like I did. -Denis
  23. Hi Kristian, Ya I can understand your apprehension. I hope you find a solution to balancing the plane. I guess this would be a case where leaving out the nose ballast would be a good option and try to make the center of gravity keep the nose up a little. Your idea of a pin sounds good, maybe try having the pin go thru the axel or put a groove in the axel? You could try on an old trashed model or on a spare set of gear. Good luck. -Denis
