  1. Thanks for the replies guys. I've copy/pasted all those kit lists on my phone so I could keep an eye out for those kits on ebay, my local hobby shop, and the market place here. :D
  2. I want the one piece canopy. I bought a couple of Revell's F-4 C/D Phantoms (which I think are just re-boxed Hasegawas) which I'm trying to build with no success, because the segmented canopies on both kits were warped. Looks ok opened, but horrible when I position them in closed position. So now I really want to get some Hasegawa F-4s, but preferably, the kits with the closed one piece canopy.
  3. I read somewhere that some of them have them, some of them don't, so I am a little bit gun-shy about purchasing a Hasegawa F-4, because there's just so many of them.
  4. Does anyone one know which particular Hasegawa 1/48 F-4 Phantom kit(s) contains the one-piece canopy? I'm looking to build some F-4Es and F-4C/Ds.
  5. BAH, nice work on your mini-B-17! The Tamiya OD will be quite dark after it's been sealed. That's the color I used on wings of my plane. Adding a little bit of white is a good idea to lighten it a little.
  6. Great start! And great choice in nose art as well!
  7. Aaaaaaaalmost done. I think I have 4 pieces left to glue on this plane. And oops, I better remove that last remaing mask on the nose.
  8. Thanks for the tip! I actually had to do a double take to figure out what you mean, but once I realized what's wrong, it was so obvious, I can't believe I missed that!
  9. Does anyone have pics of a B-17G's antenna lines/wires? I often see models where they connected a wire from the fuselage to the wing. I don't know how common that is, or is that for specialized B-17s only.
  10. Here is the ball turret all finished. And here are the propellers, waiting for their decals, which will be applied on them, as soon as I can find them. Here's the underside of Little Patches. I decided to go overboard on the weathering, since I've always loved the rough, beaten look of an OD B-17. Hopefully by tomorrow, I'll be able to spray this plane with dullcote so I could finally remove the window masks!
  11. Hi Neo, I used a paintbrush with a small tip to do the chipping. It's a slow process, but totally worth it, IMHO. I completely forgot to build the ball turret so now I'm working on that, in addition to painting the wheels and the propellers.
  12. Quick update. I sprayed to model with future and after a couple of hours, started putting the decals on. I also started weathering the plane, starting with paint chipping. I used the kits-world decals. While they are good decals, for some reason, they kept wanting to fold unto themselves, OVER AND OVER. Not exactly sure what's going on, but it was getting ridiculous. As you can see, I lost part of the mission markings, due to the decal deciding to roll over itself. Thought about ordering another set, but eh, don't really want to spend another $10 for that small part.
  13. Thanks guys, I'm just happy I haven't ruined this model yet. Goodness knows I've ruined enough of them when I was a kid. xD Wizard, yes this is the re-release of the Monogram Visible B-17G, that has the 5 crew members plus the parts for the Cheyenne turret. I decided to use the crew on a B-26 instead. Bigasshammm, thanks for the tip! I've been looking at my old books to get some ideas how to weather this plane. This is what I've done the past hour or so. I need to repaint the chrome color on the main wings, because I forgot what happened when you put tape over metal-looking paints.
  14. More progress pics! Painted the OD last night, and masked around the areas that needed to be painted red. Needs a little touch up. Touch ups, done, and I've put the plane back together just so I could stare at it lol. Now I just need to mask areas so I could add subtle changes in color to break the monotony of the OD.
