Hooray! Welcome back Eastern. That resin looks great
-
another way is to use iridescent film, very cheap and available from craft stores. just cut it to shape and stick it on with future klear
-
looks great! Just a word of warning, dont use humbrol maskol after youve futured the model as it is ammonia based and will remove the future! Also to get a really smooth, glossy finish try thinning the future with a few drops of'windowlene',its available in most uk supermarkets. It breaks the surface tension of the future and acts as a leveller.

wow this is brilliant! and in 1/72?! the wave effect looks great. What about adding a few balls of polystyrene around the boat to simulate bubbles/foam? just an idea

thanks for the comments guys!

darn! john tapsell got there before me with that technique! regarding masking, i'd use tamiya tape if you want clean looking lettering/numbers but for a more 'sprayed' on look, cut a mask from paper, back it with small worms of blutack so that it sits just off the surface and airbrush. Difficult to get right and needs practice! loving the build, keep it up

hi folks. FINALLY managed to get the fuselage together with the help of lots of mr.surfacer 500 and lots of swear words. made the two intake thingys (its technical language only here!) by making a green stuff mould and smash forming them; not entirely accurate but i think they work. Also added some ABER mesh. Think im kind of rushing through this build but just wanna finished model! Then lots of work on the small details, hooks, hinges for fast ropes etc. Found a cool way to reproduce the stiffeners (think thats what they are) on Eric F's F-16DJ build here on ARC, check it out its awe

Agree with Dryguy, cant wait to see the instrument panel
-
Wowzay! that looks great

personally, i'd wet sand the plastic with fine sand paper then with micro mesh to a mirror shine. Then undercoat with gunze mr.color gloss black (lays down really smooth and is fast drying), then mayby another polish. The shinier the black the shinier the alclad. Ive had problems with alclad black primer never properly drying

just amazing. this will be a real winner when its finished.
