  1. ignore amazon prices - a lot of them are generated by automated computer programmes - as one seller / bot raises the price, another raise it incrementally to stay ahead for actual selling prices check eBay - goto 'advanced', enter item description, click the box that says 'show completed listings' (or whatever it says), scroll further down & tick the box that says 'worldwide' & hit enter - you'll be presented with the last three month's worth of sales for that item - items that sold shown in green (plus prices), items that didn't sell shown in red if no item of that description sold

  3. just caught this thread whilst scanning through the forum. I haven't read all the posts. There's an easy way to stop this guy selling on eBay - purchase his stuff, leave bad feedback with low star ratings. eBay will soon limit or suspend his selling activities. Simple.

  5. *bump!* 24 hours to go on first batch
  6. beautiful build mate, really excellent stuff I don't want to trawl through the entire thing looking for an answer to this but...where did you get the 0.50 cal flex chutes? They look photo etched. I need some for my B-17 but the ones I have (Eduard) look more like 0.30 cal in 1/35 scale (they are from a Huey detail set) TIA Rich
  7. absolute accuracy isn't necessary for this bit. I learned my lesson from my last build (kind of) - only add what you can see! I was also trying to keep the weight of the nose section down... lots more to add of course but it was important to get the big bits installed to see how much room I have left to play with. There's a couple of small oxygen bottles in the nose - I made these and their mounting brackets from appropriate plastic tube, sheet, etc. as well as assembling a couple more Cal 0.50s ready to scratch their cradles... I now added the drift meter, located at the left rea
  8. *update 05/03/13* Hi everyone It's been a while since I updated my build thread so here goes. I've been working on the nose section for the past few weeks. I found it easier to chop the nose off before I assembled the fuselage, which I duly did. I can now work on it as a separate section & re-attach it when it's finished - I also needed to rotate it slightly as I had cut a couple of the holes (for chin turret & observation blister) off-centre. I glued the nose halves together & added the floor and internal ribs & stringers. The floor is on three levels: level one is wher
  9. tasca make the best injection moulded .50 cal but you might want to swap the barrel for a brass one
  10. you can track down either the old CAM conversion - which was basically accurate except for the wings, which were completely wrong, or the Cutting Edge sets. CE did a basic B conversion providing the wings , and other common pieces, and then 2 sets depending whether you were using a C/D kit or the J model , they also sold detailed early model engine pieces to round out the B conversion. Unfortunately the cockpit was overlooked so you'll need to scratchbuild the necessary changes by checking your sources. If you're using the 'J' kit you'll need Cutting Edge sets CEC32180 Airframe Conversion
  11. finally here is a photo of the underside of the aircraft - at extreme left is the ball turret, front of aircraft is towards the right - you can see how I've used plastic rod supports to make sure everything is square on to the fuselage side. These will also help when skinning the aircraft to create the 'base' of the wing joins. that's it for now - next up I might tackle the nose area :-) comments & feedback welcomed as always Rich
  12. hi chuck yes, they are discontinued - I got a job lot from Squadron a few months back I can understand fully about it being too fiddly - I spent around 20 hours assembling a belt a couple of inches long
