  1. Hi All, My second Airfix Boeing 727-200. Not a whole lot to say about this one. This version of the kit seemed to have thicker decals compared to the Iberia/Aerolineas Argentinas boxing. Happy enough with it. I reshaped the nose once again which I know has resulted in slightly misaligned green stripes at the nose. If I pick up another one to do the Air Canada livery I'll correct this with the spare decals. Added a photo with my previous Iberia kit, which has had a nose job too and reset the wheelbay doors for better accuracy. Thanks for viewing and happy modelling Graeme
  2. Wishing her a speedy recovery, Steve. And keep your spirits up too. Graeme
  3. Hi All, Been a while since I posted on here, but continue to frequent regularly to see what folks have done. Not sure how I got interested in building a Boeing 727. I did a Minicraft kit a few years back which was... challenging, and I'd never been overly impressed with Airfix either. Anyway, despite it taking a few months I've built one in Iberia livery. I've supplemented the Airfix kit with some decals from the (Revell) spares. Really enjoyed this one, and with the most recent release I've come to like all four of the liveries and now need to persuade my better half to let me buy
  4. Clean and sharp indeed Great job! Graeme
  5. Yet another stunning 777 on this forum. This one is a gem. Graeme
  6. Grand job Mario. You've done very well with that metal effect. Graeme
  7. Great paint job on this 777, especially in the sunshine. Masking looks very sharp. Look forward to seeing the completed work. Graeme
  8. Very slick. Good job with the engine and the fan blades! Graeme
  9. It is from the American Airlines boxing and I'm not too up on what engines are what to be honest. I know the front part of the engine nacelles wasn't a particularly good fit. However, I just love that plane with its large twin engines over a four-engined plane anytime. I ran a pencil along the panel lines and wheels to try and give it a look of realism. I also intended to add a few more antennas onto it and still may do. Thanks for the comments guys, Graeme
  10. Not posted on here for some time as this latest project has taken a bit of time (and patience). Spotted the Minicraft kit in a stall at Sunderland Airshow around 3 years ago. Started building it 5 months ago and was determined to make it a 'labour of love'. It's my second Minicraft build so I knew it wasn't going to be straightforward but it IS my favourite Airliner. Disappointed that the kit does not contain the level of detail in decals that Revell churn out, and that the windows are a decal too. However I improvised with some from my spare parts box. It was also the first time I used mil
  11. Hi all, I picked up a Revell Avro RJ85 a while back. I prefer the FlyBe livery over the Eurowings but the instruction guide says a (80% / 20%) paint mix of light blue gloss 50 and white gloss 4. Can anybody suggest an alternative paint that matches this blue (without having to mix)?

  13. In my previous post - Zvezda/Revell Ilyushin-86 a - request was made to share my technique in creating cockpit and cabin interiors. Here we go: I start by creating a number of filled rectangles on a Microsoft Word document. These are black and light-grey filled. The grey block is a representation of a cockpit panel interior with a small dark-coloured paper bulkhead, usually attached to the wheelbay block to separate the cockpit from the cabin. I try to vary the window designs by having closed, open and partially open/closed windows. I use Sellotape as a covering to give a glass window e
  14. Super job Richard. I was given the new Airbus House Colour livery kit for an Xmas present 2 years ago. Always liked the look of the Emirates livery though. I have a few A319's and its scary how much that A380 dwarfs them. Graeme
  15. Excellent job Richard. That is some project you've done there. I have a Triple 7 to do next - one of my favourite aeroplanes. Graeme
