Desert Storm decals for the Trumpeter A-7 in 1/32?
j-basset replied to Almansur's topic in Jet Modeling
For the colorful A-7 sheet, I would love to see a jet from VA-93, CVW-5 USS Midway represented in 1/32. Jason C. -
Hi all, I just got Eaglestrike's Colorful Corsairs Pt.2, and was looking at the decals for the VA-93 A-7E Bu No. 150880. The BuNo. doesn't look right for an A-7E, but reference is made to page 21 D&S Colors & Markings No.15. Can someone here who has the book help me out? I need to verify if the Bu No. is correct and whether the aircraft is correctly identified in the instructions, or whatever. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Jason C.

Gus, How about adding the blanking plate for the rear fuselage (to cover the removed beaver tail), a new tail hook and possibly a new tail hook well? The beaver tail was removed from most USAF F-15A/B/C/D's in the early 90's. I will buy this set as it is for sure. Jason

Hi, I just received my Koster RF-101C conversion yesterday - got it from Greatmodels. It looks nice, but my apprehension is about removing the parts from the vac sheet - never handled a vacform kit before. Jason C.

The good news is that since we're a friendly nation - one of these days, CVW-5's F/A-18E/F's & 18WG F-15C/D's (or maybe even F-22A's) will get to do DACT with them in joint exercises. VFA-102's F/A-18F's (shortly after they working up on their new jets) DACTed with RMAF MiG-29N's, and 18WG F-15C/D's DACTed with various RMAF types during Cope Taufan in March 2006. Jason

My memory fails me, but I think there's something on the F-14's in Rene Francillon's book "Tonkin Gulf Yacht Club". Will go home and look it up. Jason

Long shot - I need a 1/32 Tamiya F-15C windscreen
j-basset replied to galileo1's topic in Jet Modeling
I don't have a spare F-15C windscreen, but I do have the Bunker Buster F-15E which has two clear sprues. If the F-15E windscreen works, can spare it to you. Jason C. -
Good news! The new RP folks say it can be done - for sure. Anyway, I'm keeping my fingers crossed and see what they churn out for me. Jason C.

Yup, there has been some updates. It looks like the rapid prototype option just became viable again. Just met some new RP guys. In any case, our master maker has also made several different masters of the wheels, each one progressively better than the previous one. One way or another, you guys are going to get F-16 wheels. Jason

Wow! what a great range... especially the 18WG KC-135R. Any idea f these are Alps printed or silk screen? Jason
-
Jeff, Thanks for the feedback. Appreciate it greatly. We plan to show the 'tweaked' master ('tho tweak may not be operative anymore) before it gets sent off for casting. Jason
-
Yes, I've seen recent photos of Thai jets with these wheels. Matter of fact, it seems to be a fleet-wide retrofit to the F-16A/B/MLU & C/D Blocks 25-32. Jason

Thanks for the info, Kalashinov-47. Appreciate it very much. Ben, doing OK, been busy, though. How are you doing? Thanks for the comprehensive run down on the set. I don't have one yet, but certainly it being cheaper than the C&H is a major factor for consideration. Came across it while looking at the re-released Revell F-101B on Greatmodels. Jason

Thanks Pete. Could you elaborate a little more on what is provided in the way of vac parts apart from the canopy & clear parts? Also, how is the detail of the new forward fuselage? Panel lines if any? Jason

Hi, Does anybody here have anything to comment on the Koster Aero Enterprise 1/48 RF-101A/C Voodoo conversion kit? Would really love to hear any feedback on this. Jason
-
Following that last post, I would add that the master did not use the original Hasegawa Block 15/25/30/32 wheel as the starting point. Jason
-
David, Thanks for your feedback. It is sized for the Hasegawa kit. There will be some 'induced inaccuracy' because of that. Jason

With this particular subject matter being a hot topic of late, I would like to present a photo of our hand-made master of the 1/48 F-16 wheel: Please let us have your feedback - positive or negative. We still need to tweak this master a little more before we send it off for casting. We are looking to get things rolling this month. Production of our LAU-128 & one other item has been held up on account of delays the F-16 wheel, so any feedback whatsoever would be very welcome. Jason C. F-4DableModels

And Airfix has a model of the distant relative RAF Dominie T.1 trainer. Jason

Looking good, Doc! :) I remember reading in this forum somewhere a while back that the Hasegawa 1/48 F-16 is closer to 1/50 scale. That may account for the variance, but that's just a wild guess. Jason
-
Yeah, so will I. Thanks for the gen. Jason C.

I've got one too for US$4 at the local HS. It's pretty crude, really toy-like. Jason

FM Detail cockpit set for F-16C (1/48) - is it any good?
j-basset replied to Vodnik's topic in Jet Modeling
Pawel, Looked at mine ..... It's a Block 40, never mind what it says on the box (Block 30/50) as there is a WAR HUD in PE provided. Can't speak for its accuracy, but looks OK to me. Jason -
Hi, Would like to order one for my Heller RF-84F. I'm from Malaysia. How to go about it? Jason
-
I'm sorry that there hasn't been any update on this for a while. OK, here's the dope: 1. All products announced are going forward, inspite of the delays 2. The LAU-128 set has been in the holding pattern waiting for the F-16 wheel 3. The F-16 wheel has hit some pretty significant problems. Apparently, the RP route isn't going to work as the RP specialist has said that details finer than 0.4 mm can't be properly reproduced. Many of the details on the wheel we rendered is finer than 0.2 mm. So, we've been forced back to the drawing board. A hybrid wheel which includes some PE is a considera
