Dave, Thanks for the pics. It's great to be able to see how the rendering holds up to the real thing. Much appreciated. Jason

Hi, just an update: If you're wondering what happened to the previously announced 1/48 LAU-128 launch rails, it has been delayed so that it's production and market release takes place with another product we are considering. Here it is: This is a CAD rendering of the F-16 main wheel currently used on the F-16A/B/MLU/Block 25/30/32, and is meant for the Hasegawa 1/48 F-16. We'll be sending this for rapid prototyping soon, but would like to survey its viability before we proceed. This is something we would appreciate feedback on, as the Tamiya 1/48 F-16CJ is around the corner, and who k

Daniel, The printing & register looks OK. Can't speak for ease of use, etc. Markings are for 2 VF-154 jets and include some mission markings. Jason

Jay, All these items are still present on the sprues. Jason

Would be in the market for one of your sets - managed to pick up 2 boxes of the Bombcat. I'm pleasantly surprised we received ours so soon. It was an instant sell out over here. Jason

Here ya are; It's not a great shot, though. Jason

Hi, I just picked up my Academy 1/48 Bombcat from the hobby shop this evening. Just a heads up on something I don't recall seeing in the existing posts on the matter. Academy has also updated the vertical tails by adding the strengthening plates, anti-collision lights and other details. I must say that the revised vertical tails look a whole lot better than the dismal looking originals. Jason

That's good news! I'm also particulrly glad that the Monogram 1/48 F-105G is making a come back. Jason

Wowww....., I see myself buying a whole pile of these decals! What took you so long? '07 will indeed be the year of the Phantom. Jason

OK. Falcon Industries has a modern USN aircraft canopy set, which has a A-4B/E canopy but it's pricey if youre only needing one canopy. Check HERE Jason
-
capdragon, As a last resort, Squadron has a vacform A-4M canopy, which may save the day. Click HERE Jason

An issue of Take Off magazine did have a pic of the 31 TFW boss bird with ZF tail codes going vertical.

Dang! Looks like I'll have to accelerate my procurement plans! Squadron just started listing it yesterday, I think. Jason

Hog, Built one some time back and didn't notice any significant fit issues where an OOB build is concerned. Jason

Hog, Nice idea! However, I would suggest building one side as a USAF E model instead of a G. This is to prevent assymetrical problems in the fincap and nose/gun fairing. The F & G models differ in these 2 areas primarily, and have different parts for it. Jason

Sometime back another ARCer posted some detail shots of the 'new' MLG wheel rim pattern used currently on most of the above mentioned F-16 variants. I can't seem to locate these photos anymore. Can the original poster or anyone help? Jason

Marv, That would be the ground refuelling point - Italeri has molded the cap separately, giving the impression of being shortened. I believe that it's on the port (left wing) sponson, though. Jason

True details 1/48 F-4 Phantom intakes for Hasegawa Phantoms
j-basset replied to F4DPhantomII's topic in Jet Modeling
Just ordered the new True Details F-4C cockpit yesterday. Didn't know about the intakes, and can't find it either. Can anyone here post a link to it? Jason -
Shaun, To my knowledge, yes. The UK Phantoms had the same MLG wheel hub as the F-4J. Try the Detail & Scale F-4 Phantom Pt. 3 which covered Naval F-4's. Jason

JH, As it as early unslatted F-4E, apart from the JASDF F-4EJ & IDF, you could try building a jet: 1. Royal Australian Air Force (all 24 jets used were loaned from the USAF) 2. early Iranian F-4E (before aircraft were upgraded with slats in-country) 3. Thunderbirds F-4E 4. USAF NF-4E (ex-T-birds jets used as chase planes, etc) The Promodeller F-4E has the same wings & transparencies sprues as the Hasegawa F-4J. Jason

Glad to know we still have your attention. There're one or two not so conventional features about our product that we have been deliberating on. This will be settled in a few days. Once it's out of the way, things will be cleared hot. If you would like to help us by giving your opinion, please PM me. Jason

That's right. I'm on the USMILAV yahoo group, and one of the members took that photo (can't remember his name). I recall him saying that there is actually a T-38A parked next to the F-14D, which was painted out by Revell for the box top photo. Jason

Larry, A couple years back, F-4DableModels partnered with a Singapore hobby shop (Achtung Japan Hobby) and another modeller to cast the RF-5E nose in resin. It was only available in limited quantities locally, and was never widely marketed as casting quality was average. I no longer have any involvement in the project apart from having written the instruction sheet. There's been talk of a new master being made, but I have no idea when that's going to be. Jason

The recon nose looks like the same one in the Monogram kit. Some Saudi F-5E's had that nose fitted. Jason

BF, F-4DableModels will be coming out with a set of LAU-128's soon. There was an initial post elsewhere in this forum some months back. Masters for the parts are waiting on last chance, before casting begins. Jason
