  1. There's an inbox review of kit #4064 on the ScaleModelsMalaysia forum at: Revell Germany #4064 As an aside, a Malaysian hobby shop has just released a Malaysian edition with Royal Malaysian Air Force decals by F-4DableModels. Jason C F-4DableModels
  2. Darren, I would be interested in an E-2B conversion, although I'm a little concerned how involved or costly it might be. Understand that the A & B models do not have the PDS canoe running along the RH side of the fuselage, which tells me that a lot of cutting is needed. The Liberty Bells operated the B model well into the mid-80's, alongside the F-4S Phantoms of VF-151 & VF-161. Jason
  3. jiawei, It is actually the Kinetic 1/32 F-86F Sabre reboxed by Italeri with new decals.
  4. Curt, Can't really explain it. I've accumulated 4-5 boxes of the orginal F-4E P3 Bataan boxing and all don't have the bumps. Hasegawa did release a limited edition of the F-4E in the late 90's called F-4E 'Sharkteeth' (or something like that) with the limited edition 4 digit kit number. This kit recycled the 3 TFW F-4E 'Bataan' painting from P3, and had decals for Bataan & a 31 TFW bird (67-0232) but has the new wings with the bumps. Just a shot in the dark though - perhaps you may have bought a kit from someone who may swapped out the contents with a newer kit?
  5. I reckon Hasegawa irreversibly modified the wing molds in the late 80's when they released the Collector's High Grade F-4S and the F-4J 'Showtime 100' kits. The F-4E/F/G kits I have without the bumps are all those with the original boxing, e.g.: kit nos. P3, P4, etc. The initial release of the F-4E 30th Anniv boxing which retains the original kit no. 'P3' may have had the un-moded wings. All of the renumbered PT series F-4E 30th Anniv kit (with the closed 1 pc canopy added too) appear to have the bulges. I wish Hasegawa didn't mold in the bumps. These would have been better molded as separa
  6. Thanks for the offer, GForceSS. I have a friend living in Manhattan, NY. Will get back to you with the address. Is there anything I can do for you in return? Jason
  7. Thanks, f4phan. Unfortunately, R-M does not supply parts outside of the US. I'm trying for Revell-Germany, but the kit isn't listed in their latest catalogue, so chances are slim.
  8. Hoosfoos, The Hobbyboss 1/48 F/A-18C represents pretty much the same Lot as the Hasegawa kit does, with a whole bunch of added inaccuracies. Some of the more recent Hasegawa F/A-18C releases have a new sprue 'M' which incorporates most of the required parts, but does not include the NACES seat, the fish-bone LERX vents, and undernose gun gas purge mesh. To my knowledge only the VFA-94, VFA-105 & 30th Anniv editions have the new sprue. The Wolfpack kit will certainly see you right, mostly. In 1/72, I can't recommend highly enough, the relatively new Academy F/A-18C. You can build a Swi
  9. Jack, The decals for the Hasegawa re-boxed F-102A (and also the F-101B & F-106A) were actually done & sold separately by Aeromaster some years back. They were Cartograf printed ones. I recall having a copy of the Aeromaster F-102 sheet, and will check my stash if this route works for you. Regards
  10. Hi, I bought a second hand Pro-Modeller F-15E a few years back but never really looked closely at the contents till recently. Discovered the forward fuselage LH halve (Part No. 10) is missing. Anybody in a position to help, let me know. Will pay for it, or swap for it. Got plenty of decals and AM stuff. Jason C Malaysia
  11. I've got the Revell F-89C. PM me your e-mail address, and I'll send you a scan during the weekend. Jason C
  12. When it was first issued over 25 years ago, it had markings for 71-291, which was the McAir demonstrator for the E model. So the kit's features are more akin to a B/D or E demonstrator, rather than a production E model as we know it.
  13. Er, I should add that the local agent said I wasn't obliged to collect or pay for the replacement sprue since it was in that condition.
  14. I think you should just write a snail mail letter to Tamiya in Japan. I have in the past obtained a replacement transparencies sprue for my F-4C/D from them as a courtesy. I bought a F-4C/D from a US web store, but looking at the way the canopies were attached to the sprue, it was no surprise that neither survived the trip to Malaysia. The canopies had separated from the sprue leaving a gash on the transparent portion (where the sprue attached) which could not be repaired by sanding or polishing. Went to the local agent to order a new sprue. Took 2 months to arrive, and when I went over to
  15. Hi all, It's really been a long time since F-4DableModels had anything new to announce! After a couple of non-starters, we are pleased to announce the release of our new 1/48 LAU-138 BOL AIM-9 launch rail. After a long wait, our new LAU-138 BOL launch rail is back from Aires, and is now available for sale. Each set will have a pair of launch rails which are designed to fit the 1/48 Hasegawa F-14 family. Anyone interested, please write to: f4dablemodels(at)gmail.com We can accept payment by Paypal only. Jason C F-4DableModels F-4DableModels would like to express their thanks to A
  16. Way to go, David! Congratulations on this one. Really came a long way!
  17. These newly tooled parts are a real boon for building a late Lot F/A-18CD. Please note that the dual chaff & flare dispenser fairings are molded with the trailing edge portion in one piece, so some cutting will be required, since the trailing portion is fixed to the large MLG door. Hasegawa didn't address the gun-gas dispersal mesh under the nose, or the 2x 'fish bone' vents on the LERX, but I guess it isn't a biggie since Finemolds at least have issued a PE set for these items.
  18. I'd buy 2-3 sets of the F-4S conversion. Jason
  19. Yes, the Spanish EF-18's are two tone, as mentioned by others here. You might want to check out the F-4DableModels Export Bugs 1 decal sheet (48-001). There is one Allied Force jet with mission markings included.
  20. thanks reddog! That makes life a whole lot easier, as I'll be attempting a speed build.
  21. I'm building the 1/72 Revell Germany AD-5 Skyraider, and will be doing the Glossy Sea Blue painted version. The u/c legs and main wheel hubs are all in GSB, but I have some doubts about the color of the landing gear bays. Should it be white or some other colour like interior green or zinc chromate? Would appreciate any help. Jason C
  22. Actually, F-4DableModels did an Export Hornet decal sheet covering Finnish, Spanish & Swiss jets in all 3 scales. The research on the EdA jets were based on the original EF-18 and top-up F/A-18's. Not sure how much difference for the F/A-18A+, but I'm pretty sure you can cobble together something you can use from the stencils and serial no. blocks provided. check it out here: www.F-4DableModels.com Jason C. 23. Must have been Achtung Japan Hobby, as they do receive 'rojak' shipments of second hand kits from Japan now and then.
  24. If you're wanting decals for Swiss, Finnish or Malaysian jets, then F-4DableModels is your game. Spanish jets are also catered for. Check out F-4DableModels Regards.
  25. That would be the Australian Avon Sabre? In that case, I think a whole bunch of Malaysian modellers will love you for it. There are a whole bunch of gate guards and preserved Avon Sabres here in Malaysia, including 2 at the RMAF museum. Let me know if you need anything in the way of photos, or measurements.
