  1. 144th Revell CH-53 G I screwed up one of the rotors trying to bend it to give it that realistic look since they were dead flat and some actually bent away from the ground. Sneezed and got it too close to the flame so it warped it instantly. Decided to cut all the blades off then and refasten them in a swept back position. I'm not going for realism or anything just trying to hide my mistake. pita! More soon as I'm working on it right now. Edit:: Couple more pics as the rotors are done and test fitted. I agree with what's been said above that this is probably the nicest 144th kit I'
  2. Well I was really liking the look of this little copter until I got creatively stupid and screwed up one of the main rotors. I didn't like how they hung and knew that on a real CH-53 the blades are so big and heavy they droop towards the ground. I decided to try to replicate this and while heating up the first blade I sneezed and got the flame too close and warped the blade. SO I now embarked on an even more ambitious adventure and cut all the blades off and am folding them back to hide the flaw and actually save storage space. I guess we'll see how it goes. Here's a few pics for the start. Yo
  3. Yeah that's killer and the pictures are just as good. Well well done sir.
  4. Beauties! Both of them. Crisp paint jobs and super clear canopies.
  5. Also love the paint job and the detail on the panel lines is superb. Nice work.
  6. My first F-4 was a 1/144 scale bird that I did in a sort of desert camo scheme. It turned out looking really cool even if it's not authentic. I've since done a 1/32 and a couple 1/72. The last being a 1/72 Hase that I turned into a target drone.
  7. Going along with the 24 I showed earlier I actually finished this 25 before the 24. It turned out a lot nicer and the cutout section is almost like it's own diorama. I gave this to a friend who collects planes and loves 25s so it's well cared for.
  8. More stuff... Unknown A-4 two seater. I don't like it.
  9. More pics taken today since this is no longer my model and was given to a friend.
  10. Edited. All decals are sold. A-26 package is pending. Still have the Arado, F-86 and FW190 fs.
  11. I've looked before and they're real hard to make out as all those WW2 cameras took such small photos. I haven't looked in a few years so next time we dig them out I'll take another look and try to at least get tail numbers or something.
  12. It seemed a shame to put all that work into painting them and then hide them away. My grandfather was a waist gunner on a 17 so I have a personal affection to that position. Sadly I have no information on his unit or plane or anything aside from my mother telling me they did their maximum allotment o missions and then came home. I do have some good pics that he took while in the air. Sadly the cancer got him before I was born or shortly after and I never got to meet him. But I have taken a ride on a 17 and that was a spiritual moment.
  13. They're nothing like what I've seen on here but thanks for the praise.
  14. I too am interested in the Vulcan. I pmed you a bit ago.
  15. That's an awesome Prowler. Nice work.
  16. Yea Pete had shown me that one when he threw together my banner. Thanks again. If anyone has a 72nd scale open canopy for an A6 let me know. Willing to purchase, trade, whatever for it. Kris
  17. I've got the Pro Modeler 1/48 A-26B Invader kit with 2 sets of decals, an Eduard Bomb Bay set, and 2 sets of the PM PE parts for sale. Not really interested in anything you have FT unfortunately.
  18. So I want to get a set of scribing tools to work on models. Where can I find such items? Does Michael's (craft store if not familiar) have them? Local hobby shops? Or are there markets online that I can order from? They don't have to be top notch I just don't have any and think they would be helpful now that I'm getting back into this. Thanks Kris
  19. Bumpity. Kits still available. P47 decals as well.
  20. Incredible. I would say that both the finished product and this step here could go almost anywhere. I personally like the image in this step as it has a subtle softness to it. Either way you're seriously talented. Nice job.
  21. 1/48th P-40 I think Pro Modeler due to the wheel bulges but not real sure. This is the little airplane that could. I probably built this 15 years ago and it has survived about 7 different moves without getting broken. I've always liked it as one of my favorites. It's simple yet looks good for a kid who didn't know what he was doing. For that nerd in everyone here's my ancient X-wing. This like the P40 has survived virtually unscathed for many many years. I'd love to redo all the old Star Wars models now that I'm more experienced. Will have to get to that sometime in the future.
  22. 1/72nd Hase F-4 decaled as a target drone. Looking for something different than the normal gray jet so I picked up these decals for a target drone. Turned out great but I don't like how the gray is a lot darker than they actually were. In real pictures they almost look white but this turned out real dark. Oh well. 1/72nd Hase Sea Harrier. This was my first model in about 3-5 years. Threw it together in a couple days then painted it and used the kit decals. Turned out pretty good imo.
  23. 1/32nd Hellcat Night Fighter. I can't remember the kit to this as I built it a few years ago but the decals were trashed so it sat on the shelf painted without markings for a few years. Finally bought some decals which are not representative as what the plane was built but that's ok to me. I'm not an accuracy stickler I just like them to look good. Pro Modeler Mess Bf109 1/32nd. I loved this kit as it fit together perfectly and had a lot of detail. Most of the other PM kits I built were terrible fits that required a lot of extra work but this one was a dream. Looks great too.
