  1. Gauging the interest in selling a few items. Have some car parts I want to buy. These all would be quite large boxes do figure shipping in the states is going to be around 20$ or more. Shuttle Tydirium like new obvious shelf-ware to the cheap boxes they came in. 1/no idea 2x AMT Millenium Falcons. 1 regular and 1 special cutaway version. Would prefer to sell together. The boxes were damaged in a flood we had a few years ago but the plastic is fine and I still have the box top to the Cutaway version. Instructions are also in perfect order. 1/72ish Kotobukiya Metal Gear Rex Black vs. Brand

  3. Coca cola. Let parts sit in a rubber maid tub of coke over night and it should be gone by morning. I've not tried it but heard it works great. The undercoat isn't an issue as long as you prime the parts or use a base coat of a certain color. Or just sand the chrome off since you usually have to deal with tricky seams anyway.
  4. The newer Revell kits have quite detailed interiors but idk if anyone's ever tried to use parts in an academy kit.
  5. The legend set will look nicer since it has some resin and not all pe. The only problem is on a 1/72 B-17 you're not likely to see any of this so either one is probably not worth it. It's very hard to see into a 1/72 17 especially aft of the bomb bay.
  6. Hmmm. Well I'm sure I was there. Just don't remember it being then it feels like it was so long ago. Iirc that was probably the last one because they didn't get many aircraft and hardly any government support so there wasn't a big draw. Air shows before they had A-10 demos, super hornets, and would even get the stealth fighter to do flybys. I remember one air show they had a mock C-130 para drop which had 15 or so Hercs fly over in trail. Was pretty sweet.
  7. Akron hasn't had an air show since the late 90s or maybe very early 00s. This had to have been something different.
  8. I guarantee I've been there more! Grew up going to Akron Football games. Was a cheap good time I was sad when they built the new overpriced empty stadium.
  9. Do we know why it was there? If it was an event I was probably there but don't remember.
  10. What year are those pictures from? That's the Rubber Bowl behind it in the landing shot. I grew up 5 minutes from there and they had some absolute killer air shows at that airport for a few years. But that was probably late 90s early 00s.
  11. It's funny that. Once you discover "wife" then you get a lot more time to start building again.
  12. I've seen a bunch of racing guys do 24hr builds during the LeMans 24hrs. Didn't notice any this year. I tried it once. Failed miserably.
  13. Hell I bought a 1/32 for almost $250 so $150 would be a steal.
  14. The nose forward of the cockpit is terribly misshapen. It's much too round and should be flatter on top. This makes the entire nose fat cockpit forward. It still looks like a B-17 sure but for a more accurate B-17 there's nothing better than the 1/48 G. I'm not a "red pen brigade" I'm a family member of a B-17 crewmember who flew his 50 missions and got out. It will always be my favorite plane and I'll always be extra scrutinous of the kits that come out. Interested to see how the new Airfix will look.
  15. I would argue that the 1/48 G kit is easily the best plastic kit of a B-17 out there. Best shape, good detail, ease of construction. The 1/32 kits have massive shape errors in the nose. All the 1/72 kits have discrepancies as well so the 1/48G kit is your best bang for buck.
  16. Sounds like a freaky thing. I liked him as the new Chekov. Sad.
  17. Man that looks nice. The codes were really that big? I've never done it any other way but freehand but you could put the rounders on, gloss over, then run some tape to create a straight edge and put the codes a over or below the tape.
  18. Would the print shop not fully print the decals on the white paper? May be an even better option.
  19. Eduard Profipack kit plus another small Eduard pe sheet and Eduard wheels/tires. Kit decals over MM enamels. Only thing I know of that I didn't do is add a tiny pe antenna under the wing that would have broken off at any moment. Im actually pretty proud of this one and it looks much better in person since I'm not a photographer and use my phone. If anyone sees anything out of whack or missing let me know and I can change it before I take t to a show. I did notice after these pics one of the gear legs came loose so I fixed that and it may be off in these pics. Thanks Kris Mor
