  1. ALF, we have the same kind of polymer notes in New Zealand, and I've never had any kind of static cling with new notes. Even when I've had a bunch of notes with consecutive serials that have come straight from the Bank, they've been fine. They don't melt in hot cars either, I think that was an urban legend. I can't speak for the banknotes of the inhabitants of the West Island though ( ) Chris
  2. Thanks chaps! Nice of you to comment chuk, I'm in awe of your work. Scapilot, the splinter camo was masked and done quite far down the side: Then I blutack'd over it as a mask, but as I say it just looked wrong. I went over it with the belly colour to start anew: (the splodge on the port wing is where i tipped the airbrush too far, and sloshed blue paint everywhere. I had to take about a week off before my mojo came back!) and then did the mottle freehand. It wasn't 100% what I was aiming for, but it's growing on me! Chris
  3. A nice kit from HobbyBoss, plenty of detail and well fitting. My only real bugbear was the thickness of the sprue attachment points, they were a bit overwhelming on some tof the smaller parts, and required very careful cutting, trimming & sanding. Built almostOOB with just the addition of some PE belts from LionRoar. I left the supplied X-4 AAM's off, as I'm sure they wouldn't have been used. Whilst looking for information on this machine, I found the following in another forum: "This experimental weapons prototype with six 30 mm MK108 cannon was flight tested in March 1945. It was
  4. The red zone is for immediate loading and unloading of passengers only. There is no stopping in the white zone
  5. HI Andrew, sorry I only just saw this reply. There is engine detail that is quite nice, and Eduard do a detail set to enhance it if you don't fancy adding your own wiring to enhance it. The engine cowl is made of seperate pieces, so it's possible to pose them open with a small amount of work. this is the engine built up: Chris
  6. Thanks guys. Curt, it's Hasegawa kit # 09945, the decals are indeed OOB Chris
  7. Merry Christmas to you all! This is the first HAsegawa kit that I've built. It was almost built OOB, I've just added some PE seatbelts from LionRoar. I used the kit scheme, I think I left the mottling too light when compared with the box art - but it is there! Paints are all Tamiya, mixed until they looked about right. Antenna wire donated by my wife's hairbrush :whistle:/> cheers Chris
  8. I started this one about 10 weeks ago, and it is the first Eduard kit that I've built. It was quite a challenge, I know from reading other build logs of Eduard Fw190 kits that there are several areas that need to be handled very carefully to avoid problems later in the build. Overall I'm satisfied with the result, but I think that the next Eduard Fw190 I build will benefit from the lessons learned from this one. The kit is painted in Tamiya acrylics, with mixtures based on formulae found online. Weathered with oils & pastels, I used self adhesive aluminium tape for the oleos. I f
  9. Monty Python Bok! I had the Papperbok, but I have no idea where it went. I hope it's buried in a box full of books somewhere....
  10. Pretty quick work, it takes me months to put a kit together! I like the way you use those little tripods. I have a cheap one I bought from a $2 shop, it's useless for holding a camera, but you've just given me a new use for it! Hurry up and stick a rocket on it! Chris
  11. I hear that can bring tears to your eyes! Welcome back Holmes! Chris
  12. ....but don't post them online: "Olympics to ban social network photos?" http://www.amateurphotographer.co.uk/photo-news/538505/olympics-to-ban-social-network-photos The London 2012 conditions state: ‘Images, video and sound recordings of the Games taken by a Ticket Holder cannot be used for any purpose other than for private and domestic purposes and a Ticket Holder may not license, broadcast or publish video and/or sound recordings, including on social networking websites and the internet more generally Chris
  13. The question is, what is the filling? Rice? Or an F35? :D
  14. Hi Plano Guy, I had the exact same question about the exact same kit back in 2010! The white decals are indeed to stop the camo showing through the coloured roundels. Put the white ones on, let them dry, and then put the top ones on. Chris
  15. That's a nice little "ishak", a very tidy little build. I like it a lot! Chris
