Tamiya 1/48th Lockheed F-35 A Lightning II-Item#: 61124
achterkirch replied to gtypecanare's topic in Jet Modeling
Well MSRP for their new release original boxing of there 1/48 F-14 is $115 but scale hobbyist has it for around $83 dollars. My guess it’ll be decently below MSRP but I doubt it’ll be as cheap as the meng kit. But then again I’m beating the quality of the tamiya kit will be superior to meng offering. Time will tell though. -
I believe the F-35I is externally similar to the F-35A. Only difference is Israeli avionics. It won’t matter modeling wise.

I do not unfortunately. -
Welcome. I hope they do too. Looking forward to their P-8A. I heard good thing about their 737 kits so I doubt this release will be any different.

Since BPK’s 1/72 P-8 is due out in September maybe we could see a Poseidon sheet?
-
Eurofighter would be sweet. I wouldn’t mind some NATO oriented sheets

I know in 1/48 eduard has one with the pylon specifically for the F-4. https://spruebrothers.com/edu648449-1-48-eduard-brassin-an-avq-26-pave-tack-pod-set-for-f-4/

For when you make that CMV-22B sheet. I think this is the first time I seen one with a full color tail.

Sead load for VA-81 during operations against Libya in 1986. Looks like a shrike instead of a harm though.

I’m not talking about the light on the gear being moved to the nose gear door. Block 40 and up have the heavy weight gear vs 30/32 and below have the light weight gear unless your talking about some odds and ends like Greek block 30’s and upgraded Taiwan F-16V’s which are upgraded F-16A/B block 20’s. Those have the heavy gear That later blocks have.
-
You’ll have the light weight gear I. The box but you’ll be missing the larger intake parts and the parts for the GE exhaust. You would be better off with the C/N kit.
-
Also need to use the light weight main gear parts if you wanna make it accurate. Oh and sand off the little bulges found were the wing meets the fuselage. (Those we’re only found on F-16’s block 40 and up) Also since it’s a FY 86 model block 30 it only has 2 chaff and flare buckets compared to the 4 found on later F-16’s. She also has the larger MCID air intake that was standard on all GE powered F-16’s numbered 86-0262 and up.

Is this the one you speak of?

https://www.jetphotos.com/photo/9451984 hopefully this helps. They use the ones used on USAF F-15C’s.
