Challenge is that most kits - atleast in 1/48 - have the rear IP from early block 1-5 models, while every real life Viper was upgraded to the style found in Block 15 and beyond. The link HABU2 gave is a gift in this regard, as it will allow you to see the differences through each block. Yes that does help alot. Thanks guys for all your comments. I think I know what I'm going to do.

So the answer is no to you question - you cannot use the front IP as a rear IP. Oh i know that. I was just wondering If i could have used the back IP of the B as the Back IP for a D I know the Front IP is alot different from the back. Thanks thou.

I was thinking about building this bird as it looked in desert storm using the Revell 1/72 kit. I have the B model and a C and was wondering if i could use the The front IP from the C and use the rear IP from the B if that would be correct. and from what i understand then if that is true all i need is the C tail, small mouth intake and GE nozzle. I anything else i need guys? As a note i ment 86-0047.

There is a pics that I found once on airliners.net of 157514 that look like it has the color scheme you are talking about. So they might not have been wrong after all.

Its decent. Not the best F-16 kit out in 1/72. Im building one right now just for something new to do. I used a few parts from the revell kit that I had left over. The horizontal stabilizers look to small for me so i took those from the revell kit to. The best part in the academy kit is the decals the look very nice and they are printed by cartograf.
-
im going to be pee myself when these finally come out in 1/72.
-
thats what i was thinking seeing how tamiya usually markets italeri kits under the warbird brand that they have.

so i was looking on the net at some stuff and stumbled onto this. linky
