  1. My personal favorite: the Kawasaki Ki-61 Hien (Tony). It's lines are just so perfect...
  2. Hmm...you must have gotten a different version than the utter crap that was in the box I received. Ark's Hurri is a dog. I knew I was in trouble when I discovered that the fuselage halves weren't the same length. Someone who has the time and patience to deal with several serious (and in this day and age, inexcusable) fit issues could produce a fairly nice Hurri from the kit. As Tom Cleaver might say, "I am not that modeler". B) I'll take the Italeri/Tamiya Mk I FTW.
  3. I have a Techmod Hinomaru sheet (48038) I won't be needing; it's yours if you want it.
  4. Letters From Iwo Jima - Clint Eastwood's companion piece to Flags of our Fathers, the dialog is entirely in Japanese. Arguably the best film on the Pacific War to date.
  5. Maybe...but it ain't Trek. The rebooted version bears about as much resemblance to the original series as the execrable Robert Downey Jr Sherlock Holmes flicks do to the works of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle.
  6. Bingo. Kirk goes from problem child cadet to starship captain in what...a week? Two?
  7. Ironically enough, Enterprise is the only part of the established ST universe that remains unaffected by the Abrams reboot. Ain't that a kick in the teeth?
  8. Star Trek has traditionally been a character driven drama with action/adventure elements; the reboot was nothing more than Transformers in outer space -- sound and fury signifying nothing.
  9. Yes, it was... a poorly written, poorly directed, laughably bad attempt to make a dumbed down version of Trek that would be palatable to the movie going masses.
  10. Corsair, Stuka, Macchi 202 Folgore, Macchi 205 Veltro, Bf 109F-2, Bf 109-G14, A6M2 and A6M3. There were plans to release the FW 190A and P-51B in kit form but the company failed before that could happen. If you're still looking I can you hook you up with a Corsair; pm me if you're interested.
  11. Interesting point, but not particularly relevant in this case since GW's TBD is in no way, shape or form "crappy".
  12. I think I'll try using my trusty flex-i-file: I figure I can take a sanding strip, trim it so that it is narrow enough to sand between the corrugations, and voila! Seam be gone! B)
  13. You're right, I should have said "a pain in the butt". :)
  14. I think they're referring to the fact that the corrugated surface of the outer wings is going to make eradicting the leading edge seam very difficult. No pain, no gain...right?
  15. Imho the Dragon kit isn't even remotely "OK", but to each his own.
  16. As it turns out I no longer have those decals; I sent them to a guy over at LSP who was looking for markings for Shingo-san's EI-111 a few months ago. My bad. The best I can do is some decals from the old Hasegawa A6M5 kit. The dimensions are an exact match (with outline 38mm, w/o 35mm), and they look to be in pretty good shape. They're yours if you want them.
