  1. I might have some spare 21st Century Hinomarus, I'll check when I get home from work this evening.
  2. I have that book and would be happy to send you the 1/72 stuff; just pm me your mailing address. PS - would you like the 72nd scale stuff from FoJ pt II as well?
  3. It's my understanding that only Mitsubishi built aircraft had blue-black cowlings; Nakajima built Zeros(and presumably the Kate as well) would have had straight semi-gloss black cowlings.
  4. Not really, they appear to be little more than dimples. I wouldn't be surprised if a single coat of Mr. Surfacer did the trick.
  5. :D A minor nuisance, nothing more.
  6. The wing looks a tad too rivet-ish, but that's nothing a little Mr. Surfacer can't fix. Can't hardly wait to get my hands on this baby.

  8. This one is slightly off topic: Hasegawa's old 1/450 Akagi can be yours for the low, low price of $699.99 (free shipping included!). That's roughly three times as much as you would pay for Hasegawa's recent (and vastly superior) 1/350 Akagi kit.
  9. Yes and no. The AP bombs used by the Japanese at Pearl Harbor were converted AP shells, but the rest of this anecdote is pure urban myth. The Type 99 #80 mark 5 800 kg armor-piercing bomb was converted from 16" shells produced in Japan for use aboard the BB's Nagato and Mutsu.
  10. I don't have what you're looking for, but I know who does: http://www.fineartofdecals.com/goodies/132-treasures/ I placed an order back in Feb for the 32nd scale N1K2-J Shiden-Kai decals, and received them within 2 weeks. Highly recommended.
  11. If it's anything like their wildly overengineered TA 152, I think I'll just wait for the Tamiya version.
  12. Timely shipment, item exactly as described. A+++
  13. Co-signed---I just recieved the 32nd scale Spitfire I bought from Andy last week, which was carefully packed and exactly as described. 5 stars.
  14. More info courtesy of one of the writers/producers of the series can be found here: http://civilwartalk.com/forums/showthread....ion-Spring-2011
  15. Yet another outstanding build by one of the most talented builders around. His weathering skills are truly amazing. Having said that, I would VERY humbly make the following suggestion: a Hellcat based aboard a US fleet carrier in 44-45 probably wouldn't be quite that weather beaten. By that point of the war the Navy literally had more F6F's than they needed. The result was that Hellcats were generally replaced by new aircraft long before they could accumulate lots of grit 'n grime (land based squadrons would be a different story). Add to that the fact that Cdr McCampbell was at the time the

  17. I have two of their Top Colors series titles: "Fighters Over Japan pt I" and "Battle of Britain pt II". If you want additional info on either of these just let me know.
