  1. WOW What a great set of pictures. After reading all the comments about getting the pictures published, I did not see a single reference about providing your pictures to the Accident Inquiry/Review Board. Are you planning to do so? Thanks for the great pictures.
  2. Ok I know its not an airplane but I had some parts left over from building the Alfred E. Nueman kit. And what father didn't try this trick out on their kids? I know I did and they still didn't believe me when I told them there was an elephant under my chair! ! ! ! :)
  3. What you are talking about is the SRO-2M Odd Rod IFF system. Here are some odds and ends about this system I was able to find out. (don't ask where) The baseline Su-27 series, even in Russia, has always used the older "Odd Rods" style antenna rather than the newer blade style antenna. The Su-34 and Su-35 have blade antennas. The Russian IFF systems remain a bit of a mystery, I'm afraid, but I assume that the SU-27 must have had the newer "Parol" IFF system which was used since the late 70s (the 'Belenko' effect). Perhaps the physical antenna shape (blade/rods) is not related to the actual IF
  4. WOW WOW WOW ! ! ! The 1/72 Testors B-2 by John Vojtech of Unique Master Models Winner of the Best aircraft Award - Sponsored by ARC Air is simply just amazing. ;) His model won the USA IPMS Nationals Best Aircraft award sponsored by ARC Air. This is John's second year winning this award. His AC-130 won in 2005 at the US nationals in Atlanta. There is no way photos can do this materpiece model justice, the workmanship and detail be beyond belief. :D Well done John. PS The Security Cops want to know how you knew about all the interior wheel well, bomb bay detail and engine details??????
  5. Try Google NF-104 and see what you get. Better yet: http://www.nf104.com/

  7. Thanks for the link to the pictures. Now if I just could get the An-225 in 1/144 scale............
  8. This question was asked on another forum and I am posting it here for any additional information. Thanks. To quote: I recall seeing a NOVA or other program on the Airforce and it was mentioned how hazardous inflight refueling was (certainly no arguement there). The program went on to mention that a mishap by either the tanker or aircraft being refueled would lead to disaster for both, which has me wondering if this is true or just something an uninformed writer added for effect. This may seem a grotesque question to ask, but were there any mishaps involving this? End Quote.
  9. And another link to pictures and text: http://www.spaceref.com/news/viewsr.html?pid=20396
  10. I know its been a while, but here is a link to some Doolittle Raiders Reunion April 2002 - Columbia SC pictures I took from the flight line. http://jg85.homestead.com/DoolittleRaiders.html

  12. I said the same thing when I did an exchange tour at RAF Menwith Hill in Yorkshire in 1977-1980. Loved the tour, the people and the scenery. Wish I could go back and visit.
  13. Several years ago, a U.S. NAVY DC-9 medivac aircraft landed at the Greenville SC downtown airport instead of the Donalson Air Park (former US Air Force base) about 6.5 miles away. Picture was pbulished in the Greenville News the next day showing the aircraft taking off.
  14. Hey whether or not its "an inaccurate paint scheme", you got to remember that this is a modelers rendition of the aircraft as he/she would like to see it. Ain't this hobby supposed to FUN ? For example take a look at what I did at: http://www.aircraftresourcecenter.com/Gal5...ton/gal4033.htm I believe that we all can assume that T-Rex never did fly a F-14 but I gotta tell you I had a wonderful wild time doing this one. Just wait till you see whats next. (January 2006). If you're not having fun, then there is something wrong. Model On...........................................
  15. Is there Stealth aircraft out there we don't know about? The past few years have had articles hinting at an aircraft called the Aurora. There was even a "photo" showing this aircraft being re-fueled over the Noth Sea. I always thought that the picture had been manipulated to some degree but I could never find out anything on it. Untill now. So here is the fake Aurora picture and a very simular picture. The fake I found out on various web site and the simular picture I found on http://www.ukar.co.uk forum site. Draw your own conclusions.
