  1. Keep going Rob!! You can have a look at mine its on another thread? Oliver
  2. I would have to agree with John. I would never have picked anything with more than one propellor!! Lol.
  3. Thanks gents your too kind! I applied the decals in double quick time, but only after they had gone on and dryed did i realise how "silvered" they looked! So what i did is quickly paint round them with the same coloured matt paints as the camo. And the effect worked a treat, the silvering was reduced considerably. So not only did i enjoy myself, i learned a new trick to boot! A big thank you to everyone who took part. Its been a hoot and been made all the more enjoyable with a bit of company along the way.
  4. Cheers John! I saw this camo pattern online and i thought WOW! I would love to recreate that on this GB. I was a bit worried about the time scale, because the yellow pinstriping took a while to do. And then you have to wait 6 hours for it to dry before adding another coat. And belive it or not theres four coats on there! Just shows you what you can get done in a week.
  5. Well done! Thats not bad at all mate. Just shows you what you can do with a bit of talent and a brush! Different subject as well nice one.
  6. May be next time John eh? I really enjoyed doing this, it was a right laugh! I may organise another in the new year if anyone's interested? Oliver
  7. Cheers! It was an excercise in fun more than anything else. I'll check out that forum thanks for that. I really admire some of the folk on here and thier creations, alot of them are pieces of art more than models. I could'nt do anything like that havent got the patience, if it takes me any longer than a two or three weeks to do i start getting bored!!
  8. Can't wait to see everyone else's!! Just finnished, wife took some photo's and i kid you not some of the paint was still wet!!
  9. All done!!! Plastyk 1:72 Yak-1M I don't think it turned out to bad. One week to complete, pocketmoney purchase, 100% brush painted, no aftermarket goodies (apart from decals) just ingernuity and alot of fun! What do you think?
  10. You can only do you best and thats it! If you can't finish don't worry to much its supposed to be fun not a chore. Watch this space, because i may just do this!! Decals have proved a problem, but i may have a cunning and time saving plan.
  11. Just putting the decals on then ill take some photos. Ill bob em up and everyone can see what they think!! How is everyone else doing with thiers? Oliver
  12. Blimey its a good job this chap hasen't seen any of my models, he would have a field day!!!! Rivet counters you gotta love em'.
  13. I think the Matchbox portion cost around £400 - 500. The rest i would assume was something similar. I don't think that to bad considering i don't spent my money on anything else. Don't really drink, don't smoke and i don't do shopping. I work to keep a roof over the familys head, and any bit i make on the side i spend on models! Its my only real vice!!!
  14. In some respects i would have to agree with you there. In my case though (see pic's above) half of my stash is a collection of Matchbox kits that hopefully are a bit of an investment/ inheritance for the kids, they will proberbly never get built. I used to build only Matchbox kits as a child so its also a nostalgia trip. The rest were picked up over time for cheap. I don't take a long time to do a kit (and it shows LOL), i think the longest was about six weeks. Anything over that and i get bored! I really admire the work by (who i would consider) professional modelers who do take a long time a
