You know, what modelers like I guess<br />
  1. Hello John! Your WIP along with a few other Tomcat builds have been a great inspiration and a a source of priceless references and tips for all of my Tomcat models from a few months on, it has actually encouraged me to attempt building an acceptable model of my favourite plane of all times. If it doesn´t bother you I'll try to imitate some of your work, and I'll be just trying! Most importantly I just wanted to say thanks for sharing this, I'm pretty sure you'll end up with an awesome Agressor Tomcat but besides that, know that there will be a piece of it in many more F-14 models out ther
  2. I agree about the backdrop in your photos, the base looks rather nice as well but the star is definitely the model, very clean build as one could espect on a new aircraft during testing but with the right amount of fading on panels and "weathering". Great work!
  3. Following this and your Harrier build, both very inspiring work, thanks a lot for sharing!
  4. Precisely, for the time being this KittyHawk kit looks to be the best option or maybe wait for some manufacturer to come up with a good 1/72 kit, they could throw in a C and an A version hopefully.
  5. So, It looks like a good kit to get, probably not too soon since 1/48 is not my preferred scale, I wish this kit could be scaled to 1/72 and I'm not seeking for a 100% accuracy but I guess this would not differ much from the final Full Rate Production configuration, namely a Royal Navy bird? With this kit there's a USMC slot reserved for sure but I'm wondering about the Royal Navy ones since I'm a fan of naval aviation. Any insights are more than welcome.
  6. Another one for closed panels! Or mostly closed panels at least. I certainly enjoy aircraft models with all their guts out, which is beautiful and very hard work to do well. I mostly build my planes with the landing gear out, but just because I think it would be a shame not to use some of the most beautifully detailed parts of a kit. If every kit I buy came with a retractable landing gear I'd be in heaven! I guess most of the time I like to picture my models as if they were to start engines and take to the blue, sexy curves definitely play a part there as well. I intend to build several of m
  7. If that Slammer was to hit something, it was me for sure... I'm blown away! It's obviously not easy to forget that camo for a second to appreciate the rest of the work you put into this baby, but in the end, the digi scheme somehow fades away a little considering the corrections you made to the kit, the gold CONA decals and that awesome canopy tinting. I'm begging, please tell us how you achieved it! As for the loadout, that just makes it look meaner and I totally went for it, with a model looking this good, who cares if the real thing ever packed that much punch. Having a choice to disp
  8. Beautiful camouflage, i don't remember seeing it in 1/72 which makes it even cooler. I liked it a lot!
  9. Very interesting subject Aigore, It looks like the Chinese designers took the good looking parts of several Russian jet fighters and mashed them up into one. Depending on the angle you´re looking at it you´re not sure if you're looking at a MiG-21 an Su-15 a MiG-19 or what? It does have some great lines and an interesting development as well judging from the photos Ken kindly shared with us. And thanks to your speedy building skills we'll be able to see it done in very little time. Nice progress so far! Watching with great interest!
  10. I think you made the most of the kit, great work adding the antennae and other details, and about that spinning prop feature, I think you completed it beautifully with the way you painted the spinner. That's the one thing I liked the most. Congratullations!
  11. Wow Dave! Amazing Apache, I loved the great detail you put in the engines and the avionics bays and whew! I guess everywhere! And in my favorite scale. Beautiful model!
  12. I'm drooling for this kit but I agree with you, parts molding and detail looks pretty good but the plastic does look a bit hard, reminds me of the Bandai Gundam and Macross kits, not exactly what you'd want for aircraft specially if there are gaps to fill and sand or simply cut parts off the sprue. I'll keep an eye on your workbench, I want to see how it builds. Thanks for sharing!
  13. Great work! And it's not often you see a pilot in a closed canopy! Congrats!
  14. Beautiful Hornet, Great scheme, amazing detail and very pleasing weathering and finnish. I love it!
  15. Just Beautiful! I like the finish a lot and the overall quality of your build and painting, that canopy looks awesome. I just hope I can do something half as nice with my Academy kit. Thanks for sharing!
