  1. Thanks guys. I will be doing at least two sets for the F-100. They are the last ones I need to do to round out the Century Series sets. I just finished the F-106 wheels last week. R059 - Weighted Wheels for F-106 Delta Dart (Late) Anyway, the F-100 wheeels are on the bench, I just have a lot going on right now trying to finish up the F-4B/N conversion and F-4 wheel sets. What has held them back, is that I don't really like having some of the parts mounted integrally with the hubs, as there should be some space there. Anyway, I'm always working on 50 things at once with no time to do
  2. I don't think that the raised panel line -J has ever been released after they came out with the recessed one. However, Hasegawa never bothered to make new tool parts for what you would need for a B/N or C/D. But don't worry if you want one of those, I have conversions coming up soon Cheers, -Doug
  3. Very nice! I like that nose art too. Would you mind sharing what sheet you used Cheers, -Doug :P
  4. For Hasegawa F-4 kits in 1/48, the B/N, C/D, and the first issue of the F-4J (P1 with JR markings) all have raised lines. Everything else is engraved. Here is a chart that will be of great help. Haswgawa kit charts Cheers, -Doug :)
  5. Hi guys, While not a phantom expert, I have done a lot of research on F-4 wheels (you guys know that wheels are my thing) in order to make my own. I looked at a lot of pictures and had measurements, and since somebody asked, I thought I would try to help out here as decoding the F-4 variants can be very challenging. There are three types of main wheel used by the F-4, and all variants used the same type of nose wheel. 1. F-4B/N, QF-4N and early RF-4B – these are the original “thin†wheels used by these variants only as they have the thin wing without a bulge. The tires measu

  9. Yeah, F-4 and F-100 stuff first :) Man, I need some magical casting elves..... Cheers, -Doug :)
  10. Ah, I just didn't look hard enough. In the bigger picture it looks like the Late Blk. 1-32 wheels. It has many more perforations than the early type. Thank you! Cheers, -Doug ;)
  11. Thanks, That one is better. It is still kind of small, but it looks like the Early Blk. 1-32 wheels. That is what I thought they were, but the only picture I had was the one on the instruction sheet, and the angle isn't good. Cheers, -Doug
  12. Hi Curt, I want to build this same F-16A with the dragon the tail. Do know if it has the early or late Blk. 1-32 wheels? I can't tell from pictures. Cheers, -Doug
  13. Hi guys, Not haveing any luck with either the grey or black Alclad II primers (I use Mr. Surfacer and MM laquer), I just tried their clear coat (honey), and I really like it. Here is my question. Have any of you used this as a clear coat over a non BMF (camo, etc) for decals? It sprays so nice, but I was wondering if it was compatible with other paints. I almost exclusively use MM enamels. Will it harm paint if you spray it on top? I tried a test and it seems to be okay, but I don't know about the long run. Thanks, -Doug
  14. Looks awesome Stephen! Keep up the good work Cheers, -Doug

  20. It really depends. I have some older sets where the casting is very nice. So, if you can look first, and find those you will be okay. However, in the last couple of years the QC has gone down a lot. I have gotten things that were cast so terribly (rough, air bubbles, broken, etc.) that they just go right in the trash. I don't buy their stuff anymore because of it. I also don't like their wheels - way overdone. By the way, many of their cockpit sets (not all), are either KMC or Black Box sets recast. If you can find the originals, the quality will probably be much better. Cheers, -D
  21. Yep, Terry is A++! Cheers, -Doug :)
  22. Nobody. Cheers, -Doug :)
