I second that! I have quite a collection of books related to helicopter flying, and this definitely is one of the best! Not only an insight in the golden era (and place!) of helicopter flying, but the man also knows how to write.
Nice find, looks interesting! Although I have also never had a Facebook account, things like this tend to waver my convictions...
I totally agree, I could not put the book down, I communicate with Hank, and he is a great guy, and also, not being a Facebook, guy myself, again, I have to agree...... some cool stuff there I will say....

This book, is EXCELLENT, and until we get our new 1/48 scale Italeri B 206, it is well, worth a read in the mean time, lots of Bell 47 flying in British Columbia, and 206 stuff as well.... when I got it, I was only going to read a page or two, but I couldn't put it down... read it in a couple days.....

Not sure if this is the right place, to put this out there, but I will give it a try, if not, please feel free to delete, I'm NOT a Facebook guy, but a good friend of mine sent me this link, and as some of us are Bell 206 lovers, I thought this may be of some interest to those who don't know about it...

If the link doesn't work google Bell 206 Jet Ranger / Long Ranger Enthusiast public group some good stuff on it.... but as I say I'm not a Facebook guy....

To all, who are interested..... not long ago, I placed an order or request to Thomas at Speedway decals, that was suggested on this thread..... Thomas answered me back almost immediately, and mentioned he was out of town , but would fulfill my request as soon as he got home..... and he did, I got the decals today in the mail, and they are EXCELLENT ! Also many thanks to Thomas for his great communication, and his excellent service, I'm sure I will order more from him in the future, just thought I would let anyone interested that this was an EXCELLENT transaction.... thanks Thomas!

Yes, for 20+ years.
It's fully restored, I drive a lot in the summer.
not as much fun as a Bell 47, but it's easier to service and insure.😁
I would LOVE to see a pic, I'm a Corvette guy so I am into cool rides...

We can always hope. I believe Viacom, a CBS Division, has the rights.
A couple of years ago a firm brought out the 1971, 13 episode series "Bearcats!" on DVD, so I guess anything is possible. Like Whirlybirds, it had a small but strong fan base, which remembered the series for its car, a 1914 Stutz Bearcat replica, built by George Barris...(which I own in lieu of a Bell 47).
that's sad.................. I remember the Bearcats...... vaguely.... you own the replica car?????

I think CBS owns the rights. One could contact them. Here is a article on the show.
Maybe we need to get a 'petition' going?? ;-))

I often wonder if 'we' could lobby someone to record or produce the rest of the series of some of these classics...... obviously there is an interest out there...... I know it is about profit and business models etc, but wouldn't that be cool??

The only Whirlybirds I've seen on Amazon is a 7 episode DVD.
Yeah, that's the one I have..... not perfect by today's standards, but it works well, and is nostalgic..... I still enjoy them....

Thanks John, 12 O'Clock High isn't available as yet I don't believe and yeah Whirlybirds is one season only so far................ why can't they make GOOD tv like these old shows again, instead of the crapola they have out today? ;-))

I'm 59. I watched them when I came home from school in the mid 60's.
And I will be 62 on March 5 and I remember it too, a VERY exciting series, and I did manage to get Season 1 on DVD from Amazon.... I only wish they would do the rest of them , along with the tv series Sky King and 12 O'Clock High............ the BEST old school tv ever.....

You'll be happy with them. He's not fully closing shop, just not doing custom made to order work. His regular line will still be available.
That sounds very encouraging.................so would these be considered his 'regular' line as he already has the art work done? Technically it wouldn't be 'custom work', as the designs are not in need of redoing? hhhmmm.... just wondering .....

He uses a Alps printer. They are very nice thin decals. Printed on clear film so you will have to trim closely. Look at my build above. Those are by him.
He just sent me a note and I have placed an order, ............ I ordered a couple extra sheets too, just in case I screw one up and / or I want to do another one down the road when they won't be available, then I will still have what I need............ trying to think ahead and be proactive................... then I won't have to beg anyone here for a spare set..... see I AM thinking ahead !!🤓

Just sent an email request............... I hope to hear from him........... thanks again !

He says a sheet/set has enough for two models.
Prices are $6.95 for 1/35 (remember to use the Revell kit with the MRC skids or a Revell cabin & fuel tanks on the rest of the MRC kit) $5.95 for 1/48, $4.95 For 1/72nd.
Plus, if you don't use PayPal there is a surcharge (which I don't mind since I dropped my PayPal account after they allowed a bogus $500 charge to Kenya ...really guys, it's not like I have a history of buying stuff, in suspiciously round numbers, in Africa).
I haven't received them yet, so I can't comment on the quality.
His website says he's closing up shop at the end of 2020...so as they say on TV, order now!😀
Now all we need is a kit of an early Cessna 310 and Sky King "Songbird" decals.
Thanks john, I will get on this right away.... I appreciate your quick response.....
Cheers

Speedway came through.
I'm ordering sets in 1/35th, 1/48th (which I'll put on a 1/43rd diecast), and 1/72nd.
Thanks for the tip!
How many sets did you have to order and can you tell me how much he charged, I would be VERY interested in a couple sets as well...

Well, I didn't ask, but I am sure and assuming it is the Revell Skycrane you are thinking of..... the post does say 1/72 scale..... so I am 'assuming'...... and there again it would be great for a new Sky Crane.... we are due , I'd say....

I have always wondered, if I was the ONLY one interested in this machine ( I guess not wahoo!!) as most of the model guys all want the big military iron. And as it is one of if not the highest manufactured helicopter in real life, how does it go without love in the model world? I do hope that IF there ever is a good one, it is a true 206 and not a Kiowa that has to be modified as there are some stark differences................ I am still hopeful.... and I am feeling better there are you guys out there that are interested in this as well..... kind of a warm and fuzzy feeling...🤗
