Important to remember that when you "tab", you are registering on the inside surface of the piece. If the pieces are not identical thicknesses, the exposed surface will be "stepped".

Do yourself a BIG favor and get the Eduard mask set CX014. It has become hard to find, but it is worth looking for. The mask is wrong for the top turret, but every thing else fits perfectly.

I think you hit the nail on the head------it's all a matter of expectations. I love the juicy challenges of a short-run kit, relish them AAMOF, but when I build a Tamigawa I expect it to fall together and don't want to be bothered with challenges. Human nature.

I let my FSM lapse and haven't missed it for one second. I do like SAMI-------that and the IPMS journal are all I get now.

Are you sure you need to start another kit?

If you're going to use soap, use Ivory. It is the only one I have found to NOT have the lanolin-type hand softening agents in it. personally I use Blechley White. Do not use MEK, acetine, lacquer thinner etc----it will soften the resin. I like the idea of simple green or alcohol (71% IPA, 91% IPA, 99% IPA, denatured), though I've never used them to remove release agents on resin. If you think Eduard's release agent is bad you should deal with some of the resin ship guys or Aiagrand-----it's like cosmoline :-)

Mr. Greywolf, sir When were you at Holloman? I was with the 49th 1966-1970. I was a phantom phixer for the weapons control system. Spend a fair amount of time at Spangdahlem and way too much time at Wheelus. Mayhap we crossed paths?
