  1. Hello People of the Plastic, Just started a Revell 1/48 F-14A and I wanted to pose it as if it was at tension on the cat. Question is is what position would the intake ramps be? Thanks, Jason
  2. Welcome Rcflyerguy! Yes you will like it here. The guys here are real helpful and friendly. We will be looking forwaelrd to seeing your work! Feel free to post pics of your RC planes as well. Like to see them! Welcome aboard!
  3. Awesome work on the canopy and photoetching!
  4. My deepest sympathies to the family. No parent should have to bury their child. Very heartbreaking.
  5. That is one cool looking bird! I especially like the exhaust staining on top of the wing, and the subtle wear and tear such as the paint chipping and fading. Very well done!!!
  6. I have VFA-195 decals with the Eagle head that came with my 1/48 F/A-18C, if you're interested...
  7. I thought I placed enough weight in the nose of my Revell Intruder, only to find It still sat on it's tail after it was put together! So I ended up placing nuts in the intakes, and will have to make intake covers to hide them! Can't wait to see your finished product. Looking STELLAR thus far!!!
  8. Just realized the chin pods are the same on the Alphas and Bravos. Besides the upgraded engines, what else is the difference between Alphas and Bravos, and what squadrons operated the bravos?
  9. Awesome! It would be great to re-establish the old Attack squadrons for the UAV's!
  10. Seeing updates on your Intruder gets me excited like a kid on Christmas morning! Love your work as always, Elmo. I may use this thread when it comes time to build the Prowler. What did you use for scribing and fastener detail? EVERY TIME I scribe a line, it looks like @#!! while yours are straight and perfect! Getting ready to start a Revell Tomcat and I want to do the scribe lines right. Keep up the great work on your awesome job!!! You NEVER cease to amaze me! Jason
  11. Oh MY GAWD!!! This is going to be a stunning model when finished! Love your bay detail!!!
  12. I didn't think it was even possible to make the A-6 any uglier!
  13. Please DO Alvis. Those chicks are HOT! :P
  14. That Silver Eagles jet is BEAUTIFUL!!!
  15. Excellent attention to detail! You've really done an outstanding job on the weathering and staining on such a small aircraft! Well done!
  16. Thanks for the replies. All great advice that I will definitely use. Yeah, I wasn't happy with the landing gear area, and just realized I should've painted the inside of the canopy as well. My main problem is patience, to take my time on certain areas of the model. Hoping for a better outcome on my next build. Jason
  17. Umm... !!! WOW, that is detailing at it's finest! Excellent work!
  18. What type of thinner are you using? I used lacquer thinner, and had the same problem. From other modellers, I was told that the lacquer thinner can cause some of the paint to dry even before it hits the model causing the powdering. Now I use the MM thinner at about 50/50 mix at about 15 psi. I also have an old model I use to test the paint. I may use Joel's advice about using mineral spirits and his ratios, as I've seen the beautiful outcome of his builds! Good luck with your build. Can't wait to see it!
  19. That's EXACTLY how I wanted my F-4C to look!!! I wish I would've waited for you to paint yours so I could copy! Perfect paint job, and beautiful aircraft thus far!!!
  20. Hey Shipmate, when you do get down there, PLEASE take a lot of pics! I think it'll be a while before these fine ships are completely dismantled. Yet it makes me sick to my stomach thinking about it, especially since the Indy will be there soon.
  21. Off the top of my head, some of the A.O.s that may have been on the Midway would be Issac Myers (I-mer) Zimmerman (Z-man) Ryan Linse (He was an airframer) I'd have to look at my cruise book too, as there were plenty of Salty Dogs that talked about the Midway.
  22. Did you know anyone with VA-115 while on the Midway? A few guys I served with while on the Indy also played on the Midway as well.
  23. You won't see any criticism from me. She's looking fabulous! Very clean work! I think you'll do VERY well in the contest!
  24. I was just going to say, someone posted on the reply and called him/her on it! Good on you Mingwin! Anyhow, Great job on YOUR build Bigasshamm!! Beautiful car!
