There are, as I recall, three 1/72nd forts that grandpa built, and a 1/48th that dad and I built, but they are all hanging in the garage at Dad's house. I'll try to get pictures if I can. These moved from grandpa's study (he was a B-17 pilot) to dad's house for storage for awhile, and finally to where they hang now, so they got a little roughed up over the years, besides the fact that they were already 30+ years old. ;) I'm familiar with the Propblur stuff but I don't recall whether the hubs are there or not. I was afraid of going the resin route, simply because dad is retired and I didn

Yes, that's the one I'm thinking of. I agree with you, I think the history was off, but it was kind of fun. Last night I beat the Rabaul Raid, which is supposedly one of the toughest, and am on to the Top Secret mission. I really just want to get to where I can fly the B-17. -

Definitely going to look for it. Want to give some time until my fiancee gets over the Blazing Angels purchase. I've been playing it nightly for the past three or four days. -

There was a mission I just finished in Blazing Angels where I was defending some bombers briefly so they could land. It wasn't a full escort mission and I think I was flying something other than a P-47. That sounds like a fun mission, wish I knew which game it was in, so I could buy it! -

That looks like fun! Did I miss it, or did they forget the A-10 Warthog? -

Unfortunately, the B-17 mission is, like, Mission 19, and you have to beat all of the prior missions before you can go on that one. It looks cool from the Youtube vids I've seen. You can bounce around between the various gun positions and then take the controls for the bombing run and flying. -

I am mainly in it to play the B-17 Mission, but I'm enjoying the other ones along the way. I'm also looking forward to "Combat Wings: The Great Battles of WWII" which I saw on Amazon yesterday, scheduled to come out for Wii in June. Looks like they took the arcade style of Blazing Angels and bumped up the graphics a bit. The biggest bummer was seeing how nicely they rendered the B-24's in the Blazing Angels intro video, only to realize that's one of the few planes you can't get in the actual game! -

I'll have to take a look for that one. I had not heard of it before. -

I haven't gotten there yet - is that the really hard one everyone talks about -- the Rabaul Raid or whatever? I had Call of Duty: World at War but I found I couldn't play it around the younger step-kids, so I sold it. This one on the other hand: Went to an arcade the other day and they had Blazing Angels as an arcade seated shooter. My 4 year old step daughter rode shotgun with me while we played, and when we got off the game after crashing, she looked at me and said: "WOW! That was just like a movie!" -
I'm not much of a gamer, but I bought a Wii 2 years ago for the fiancee and step-kids to play around with. So far, there haven't been many games that interest me as a grown-up. I found Blazing Angels - Squadrons of WWII at Wal-Mart and thought it looked interesting for $20. Basically it's a WWII combat simulation - heavy on the combat, not so heavy on the flight sim side of things. It's one of those all-inclusive games (meaning, they start you with the RAF Eagle Squadron, send you to Pearl Harbor, then Japan, then somehow you are a B-17 crewman as well). So far I've completed two miss

Somebody beat you to it, sorry man! Still have the other stuff here when the auction ends.

Also found that I have the following in my box of stuff: 1. Metal landing gear assembly, NIB, asking $7 2. Eduard PE Seatbelt Sets for Rev-Monogram 1/48th - $5 Thanks!

I would agree. Apparently this was less common than with the B-24 due to the wing tank design of the B-24, but still possible and obviously horrific. As I went through the B-17 at the air show last fall, I couldn't help but marvel at the fact these things worked at all. 1. Large quantities of oxygen 2. Gasoline 3. High explosives 4. Guns All sandwiched into a tube and being shot at. It's a miracle anyone survived!

Perhaps I will try to find some accelerator. The kit is started now so it's not worth trying to sell, might as well make the best of it!
