You need to extend the MLP further aft. It looks too short in length to me. Any tips for a 1/72 scale version? :)

I used Model Master's Chrome Yellow for my ET. The lighter tones are using Testor's flat yellow. This is if you wish to show the ET fresh from the factory or during rollout to the pad.

That is very helpful as all my orbiters have this problem on keeping the doors shut.

The styrene strip fills this in so they are even like on the real orbiter.

The small generator seen in the last photo that has the four vents on the top is only there for rollout, not during launch. Though, I have no idea what the generator is used for during rollout.

Any tips for a 1/72 scale styrene plastic version?

What color would work to get that color seen in the photo? It looks like a light brown, tan color on the side of the aft fuselage. Awesome.:) I plan to make a 1/72 scale LC-39 using the EDU-Craft Diversions paper kits. :) I plan it to be an all styrene version when finished. Well my last try many years ago was using wood, and it fell apart. Maybe this time using styrene will work.

What is the servo pack listed on your site that you plan to release? It's for the Soyuz LC. Will there be kits to go with the Real Space Model's rocket kits? Energia-Buran 1/144, and other rockets they have? Ares 1 and Ares V? I hope someday there will be 1/72 scale LC kits for the Monogram stack, Mach 2 Soyuz, and other kits of similar scale. Will you be using tile decals or scribbing/ carving the tiles onto the model? I used the method I mentioned as it gives a more realistic texture to the tile locations on the orbiter. I will say the belly tiles are the most time consuming to work with. By the way, checkout my STS-107 stack. :) On the Monogram ET, the cable tray that runs along the LH2 half is not accurate ,nor matches the cable tray for the LO2 tank. You will need some styrene strip for the new cable tray.

There is a cool daylight photo of STS-61-B after rollout to the pad. NASA photo 108-KSC-85P-258. That photo. It is seen in black and white in Dennis R. Jenkin's Space shuttle: The first 100 missions on page 273.

I found a photo that shows why Revell chose the shape of their SMEs. Look at page 248 of Dennis R. Jenkin's book Space Shuttle: The first 100 missions. SSMS 0003 has slimmer bell shape than the actual design that has been used since STS-1.
