  1. @Night Owl Models One of my friend did edit this photo for me:-)No poles! As for the exhaust thing, I originally planned some slight drawing along the rivets, only to give up later on (as I preferred shiny plates rather than pale ones:-D)
  2. The airplane is built last year. Prior to my Tamiya F-14D build. OOB except for some modification on the landing gear legs, and a little re-shaping with nose section and nacelle sections. The paint I used was Gunze Mr. Color, a solvent based color. Painting was done in four steps: 1) apply a layer of Mr. Surfacer 1500 primer; 2) making preshading with brownish black ; 3) basic painting, but with thinned paint so as not to fully cover the preshading; 4) weathering with Winsor Newton Oil color Here comes the reveal photos. Hope the photos show up properly
  3. Hello, this is my first try with Kinetic kit. This is the Spanish version of F/A-18A+ I finished March 2020 The fitting was not quite good, with nasty seams on the rear fuselage and the base of windshield. I used a lot of putty and had to sand it with a FILE, yes, a FILE. I chose the Spanish scheme C.15-25 (15-12) in its 2015-2016 status (no roundel over left wing, no obvious walkway over LERX). I grabbed spare TAURUS and IRIS-T missiles from an old Revell Eurofighter Typhoon kit. As for the landing gears, I opted to modify them into in-flight mode. Putting the diff
  4. Finally finished, it had been a long time I was having problems to post pictures here in ARC forum. I had posted in britmodellers before, so WIP thread is here: https://www.britmodeller.com/forums/index.php?/topic/235079872-tamiya-148-f-14d-tomcat-wip Also I had done similar work with the AMK kit: https://www.britmodeller.com/forums/index.php?/topic/235079280-amk-f-14d-vf-213-oef-2001-148/ This work consist of three parts: 1, Tamiya 61118 F-14D Tomcat, 1/48 2, KASL Hobby F-14A/B/D Slat & Wing Flap Set (Perhaps this is the most difficult pa

Putting the difficulties aside, Kinetic did a great job in depicting a modern F/A-18A+/B and
  6. The sun finally comes out, so I have the chance to take some shiney photos I took this photo for reference :-)Although I noticed in most case the undercarriage doors are closed when gears are down and locked
  7. 1/48 Short Tucano converted from hobbyboss EMB-312. The following parts are modified: 1\ the original three blade is converted into a four blade propeller 2\ jet pipes are moved to lower front fuselage 3\ the nose section is slightly modified to represent a smoother cross section on the Short Tucano rather than Embraer Tucano 4\ Added a frame and detonation cord to the original canopy 5\ Added the ventral airbrake, leaving it at closed position
  8. Finally realized that the airbrake is hung below lower fuselage rather than being integrated in to fuselage skin....so i made one out of placard Now it is finished
  9. A little update: canopy painted, decals applied. Detonation cords are made of some spare decals from other kits
  10. Really pleased to draw attention of those who know Short Tucano well. I did noticed that the ventral brakes are one of the difference between Short Tucano and Embraer Tucano. Unfortunately Hobbyboss kits represents the EMB-312 Tucano only, so there is no ventral brake on the kit. I simply decided to omit this airbrake, cuz I would like to build a Tucano with clean configuration (suppose it in closed position). Regards.
  11. I used oil paint solved by lighter liquids Regards.
  12. As far as I know, there are two major versions of Brazilian Tucano: the EMB-312 Tucano basic trainer and EMB-314 Super Tucano(which is actually a light attack aircraft). Hobbyboss has released both versions. Brazilian EMB-314 Super Tucano (Hobby Boss - Nr. 81727 - 1:48) The conversion set you mentioned above would be suitable for this version https://www.scalemates.com/kits/hobby-boss-81727-brazilian-emb-314-super-tucano--227138 Brazilian EMB-312 Tucano (Hobby Boss - Nr. 81763 - 1:48) This is released in 2017, a new tooled injection kit for the Embraer E

The following parts are modified: 1\ the original three blade is converted into a four blade propeller 2\ jet pipes are moved to lower front fuselage 3\ the nose section is slightly modified to represent a smoother cross section on the Short Tucano rather than Embraer Tucano 4\ I am going to add a frame to the original canopy
  14. thanks a lot! Literally it is a challenging kit. It does need a lot of putty and sanding. The fitting of its intake is a nightmare, haha.
  15. Hello, this is an old build finished in 2011. Built straight out of box.
  16. Hello ,this is my build last summer. I used S4804 (F-15C MSIP II flown by Jeff Hwang) but instead replaced its decals with Afterburners' 'Shogun Eagles'. Weapons came from difference sources( AIM-120Cs from Hasegawa's air-to-air weapon set, Sidewinders were from Tamiya's F-16C kit)
  17. Some work in progress photos here: Hobbyboss provided a wrong type of ejection seat. By the time I realized this mistake, i had already put the nose section together and glued it.
  18. This Hawk comes from Chinese domestic factory Trumpeter. The model was bulit almost straight out of box, except for modifications on wings. I removed the small wing fences that were intended for model Hawk 51, Hawk 60, Hawk 65 and Hawk 67, and added stall strips on the leading edge of wings. The model was painted with white and yellow primers, then painted with Super Italian Red. All paints used were from Gunze. Decals are thin and soft. Several layers of Gunze GX100 clear coats were applied before polishing and applying decals. A few layers of Gunze GX100 clear coats were applied over t
