Greece has a mix of block 30, 50, 52, 52+/52M and now latest block 72.

The block 30's have serials in the 1xx range and GE engine and big mouth.

The block 50's have serials in the 05x-08x range and GE engine and big mouth.

The block 52's have small mouth and PW engine, and depending on the batch, serials in the 5xx/6xx series or 0xx series for the block 52+/52M. It is these block 52's which are all upgraded to block 72.

The decals ModelMaker refers to belong to 335 mira (squadron), who used to fly block 52+ with serials in the odd numbers starting from 001-> while 336 mira flew even numbered jets starting with 002->.
Following the block 72 upgrades the jets have been mixed between the squadrons compared to pre-upgrade, hence you need to check the references.

Although 005 flew with 335 squadron at the time (2016) it carried these markings, it has since moved to 343 mira post-block 72 upgrade. 343 mira flies from Crete.
The Greek AF announced earlier this year they are well beyond the half point of upgrading the block 52's to 72 standard. Over on F-16.net you can check any jet you want to see when (roughly) each was upgraded. 005 was among the first converted, starting in 2020, completed and back to service in 2022. F-16 Aircraft Database - Airframe Details for F-16 #06-0005 - F-16.net

I know you didn't necesarily asked for any of this info, but giving it anyway 😜

All the extra info is much much appreciated.

  2. I am trying to figure out the mounting orientation of the LS-6

Should the side with the wing box (?) go onto the pylon or it needs to be flipped ---> what I can make out from the image here:

the wingbox area is facing the ground.

If that is the case that the wingbox of the gbu is facing downwards..does that bomb rotate during release for proper orientation? And guessing the plying adapters are not required for the JF-17?

Some sort of CATM-120C-like training missile, or the shell of one filled with telemetry to monitor release of the weapons during test flights and releases.

Just appeared a bit thicker than one hence the question...thanks!

  4. Funnily enough this is what I was hoping to do

along with a Zeus Blk 52 and made the MCID/GE engine mistake; I still have 3 HAF vipers on the bench

This is the one that i'm scratching my head with since its MCID/GE with CFTs so my options are quite limited now in terms of schemes available.

Part of whats on my bench currently

It is interesting to me to figure out why countries that operated the GE engined F-16s ended up choosing the Blk 52 rather than Blk 50+ - assuming that the supply chain gets messed up that way.

  5. Eeek....

I made a mistake then...made a MCID F-16 with CFTs....now looking for any cool color schemes that folks here may recommend?

Worst case, I could repurpose it as a Blk 60 (E) from the UAE but any other suggestions available for a MCID/GE engined F-16 color scheme?
