  1. Profiles of all the single seaters on the first sheet:
  2. Hopefully the economics of this sheet will work; and I will let you know here if and when the sheet will the released. Meanwhile, here is a draft. For the time being, please ignore the fact that the profile is armed and does not show the drop tanks: I had to repurpose an armed Block 50 profile that I prepared for another sheet.
  3. Patents are not applicable to this issue. There is absolutely no way to patent a resin shape that is a scale representation of a bigger object. You can not patent a shape unless it serves some purpose and is central to the functionality of the mechanism or the device you're patenting. Not to mention that the costs of "patenting" a scale model resin accessory; even if it were possible; would have completely wiped out any potential profits. I am not a lawyer (I am an engineer and a patent agent who had passed the USPTO patent bar exam, though), but I personally think there is no legal case her
  4. The anniversary scheme of the 149th FW "Lone Star Gunfighters" heritage jet was too good to pass it up, so I drew the artwork over the weekend. The draft artwork and a color profile will be posted tonight. I will consider releasing this as a 1/72 & 1/48 combo sheet.
  5. My initial question was posted some months ago:I think there is now no question that the scheme uses two colors. Photos from the 2007-2008 timeframe clearly show two colors. It is possible that they were painted a single color before that; but I believe they have been painted in this two-color scheme for most of their operational lives. Skunkworks may normally do very good research, but it sure wasn't obvious on this kit's decal sheet. <_<
  6. Isn't this the Phantom right beside Mopac (Loop 1)? It just reminds me how bad my morning commute was before I moved closer to where I work, I used to pass by it every morning for three years.
  7. Upper surfaces are FS36375, lower are 36176. Here is a review of my decals: http://www.hyperscale.com/2011/reviews/decals/carcalcd48001reviewme_1.htm
  8. As the cliche goes, "Google is your friend". It looks like his middle initial was "F", and he retired from USAF as a Lt. Col., and this might be what he looks like right now. 9. Thank you all for your interest in this sheet, it's been selling exceptionally well! I shipped most of the orders placed so far(I can only ship twice a week), and all current orders should have gone out by tomorrow. The first online reviews should start appearing next week. The success of this sheet so far means that the second and third ANG F-100 sheets are a "go". I will announce the release date soon.
  10. All you need is to be familiar with manipulating image resolutions during scanning and printing. Anything else is simple math. You shouldn't need any special software for this, any image viewer that can do precise resizing/rescaling will work. On the Windows platform, IrfanView (www.irfanview.com) is an excellent, free choice. When you scan the original instructions, you will need to pay attention to the scanning resolution. For most painting instructions, you should not need a resolution higher than 300 dpi. Any scanner in the market now should support 300 dpi resolution. You then save t
  11. Scott, do you have any more photos of this airframe? There is enough material here for two ANG Phantom sheets, but I am particularly interested in this one. Thanks for sharing these!
  12. Great news. Since you are considering an A129CBT, would you consider a T129 kit in 1/48? If you do, I can assist you with details. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/TAI/AgustaWestland_T-129
  13. The supposedly positive health effects of red wine(due to a chemical named "resveratrol") are seriously under doubt now; and some recent studies have come very close to entirely debunking the "red wine is good for you" myth. http://singularityhub.com/2010/01/19/two-new-studies-cast-doubt-on-resveratrol/ http://singularityhub.com/2011/01/17/gsk-drops-resveratrol-could-the-embattled-supplement-live-on-in-other-forms/ http://www.cbsnews.com/8301-504763_162-20110210-10391704.html
  14. Here is the finalized artwork for this sheet. It is going to the printers this week. The upcoming Ibex kit is simply excellent, and fans of the T-6 Texan II/CT-156 will not be disappointed.
  15. I just noticed Steve posted some photos of his B-29 completed with these custom decals: More photos here..
  16. You might want to take a look at Roger Jackson's excellent build here. Read until the end, the article was posted on April Fools' Day and it's not immediately obvious that the kit is the old Testors(nee Hawk) F-5A. http://modelingmadness.com/reviews/viet/jacksonf5.htm Another good build: http://www.scaleworkshop.com/workshop/f5atc_1.htm Keep in mind that with at least two new mold 1/48 F-5A kits (from Kinetic and Tanmodel) to be released in the next few months, the Testors mold is finally about to go into a well-deserved retirement.
  17. Here are the first profile drafts from this sheet. Oklahoma ANG profiles will follow later:
  18. Michigan, Ohio, New Jersey, Arkansas and others will be on the future sheets in this series. The second sheet will have New Mexico (only the ADC Grey painted "Det 1" jets, though), DC and Oklahoma.
  19. The new 1/48 Air National Guard F-100 sheet from Caracal Models is available for sale now. I will start shipping these on Wednesday. This first sheet in a series includes markings for SEA-camouflaged F-100C/D/Fs from Connecticut, Georgia, Indiana and Missouri Air National Guard units; including "City of Terre Haute" which made the last operational USAF F-100 flight. Information and order link here:http://www.caracalmodels.com/cd48003.html
  20. The ordering link is now active; and you can now buy this sheet via PayPal. The price is $14. I will start shipping these decals this Wednesday. Caracal Models CD48003: Air National Guard F-100C/D/F Part 1
  21. You really want these decals, don't you? I added Italian markings and removed one of the Creech options to make space. I should have these sometime in mid October.
  22. Look really carefully at the companies I suggested, and you will see both companies basically provide a 3D-printing service where you can upload a design and get it 3D-printed in one of the various technologies and materials they provide. They also provide a marketplace where you can choose to offer your designs for sale through them, where anyone can order a printed copy of a design you uploaded, and you get part of the revenue. If you want to see examples, their forums are full of examples printed through their services: http://www.shapeways.com/forum/index.php?t=msg&goto=34100&
  23. Reasonably sophisticated and affordable 3D prototyping services are available from many different service companies such as Shapeways, Cloudfabs, etc. I personally know two folks who get their railroad hobby product masters produced by such companies and sell resin copies. I am currently working on a new line of detail parts and accessories that will be designed and produced this way. http://www.shapeways.com http://www.cloudfabs.com
