  1. No we did not vote for this, but from what I gather (and it may not be correct) the EU is going to be doing something similar later in the year. The UK government is supposedly getting ahead of the game. It would be a pity if you cannot sell direct to UK people as I would prefer to give you the full amount for every decal sheet that I buy from you, so that it is invested in more decal sheets for me to buy.

  3. Happened at RAF Brize Norton when somehow the ground crew refueled the tail end first or something went wrong with how the aircraft distributed the fuel. I know someone who was actually on the aircraft and felt the aircraft nose move upwards and hastily when for the front door and made his escape.   6. Going back to RAF parlance the upper cutaway that you have is a HC1 whilst the lower one is a HC2 (note metal blades on the upper one). The fan on the deck if I remember properly (I did not work on HC1s for that long) is the fan for the Aft Xmsn. I will be honest and say that I cannot remember what those radiators things were for. I am just wondering if the slot in the F version is a better way of relieving the air pressure around the Comb Xmsn and on the hinges and locking mechanism of the doors themselves.

  8. I have found this photo in colour in one of the books that I have and it states that it is Bu No 157990 aircraft number 11. But to be honest I still am unable to read the Bu No so your research maybe more reliable.
  9. The main thing is getting the fuselage together as it is split into two pieces. The other main issue is the nose U/C which is fitted when joining the fuselage together. It looks very feeble and can be easily knocked off (which I did). Just remembered the under fuselage U/C element had to be adjusted as it was way to short to touch the ground with along with the other U/C elements.

  12. I am currently building the AMP KC-10 Extender being painted in the SAC Grey/White scheme, and I am at the painting stage where I have run into a slight difficulty. I have the main part all painted up it is the Blue colour at the top of the nose that I am having a problem with. I will be using the Caracal decals for this build and they only supply a small section of the rear of the Blue with the rest being painted by myself. Although the decal is not fitted yet, this is where the problem has arisen in trying to match this colour. The instructions state the colour as FS 15102 and I have got the

  15. I am looking for a little help, and thought that this topic may be the best place at the moment. I am currently making the AMP KC-10 kit using this decal sheet to make one of the Grey/White schemes, but I have run up against a slight problem. I have got most of the kit painted and I have now started on the Blue around the cockpit. I have bought and started to use the Ammo-Mig paint No MIG-0229, which is said to be FS15102. But when I have painted it next to the photocopied mask that I using to get the painted area correct it looks too bright from the Blue on the mask. I will post some pictures
  16. Thanks for that, but I do not think that it is showing what I am after, but it does show in good detail the drogue housing which is not included in the kit and the APU. I am thinking that because the boom is lowered slightly this opens up the panel as shown. I did forget to say the I will have the boom stowed in the up position, so does this mean that the panel is down shown the latter part of the fairing?
  17. I am currently building the AMP kit of the KC-10 Extender and would like to ask a question about the boom operators area. I think what I mean is the cupola where the operator sits (I think) and its shape. The kit has a blunt ending to this with a largish gap between it and the actual boom equipment. Now I have seen this area with a more shapely end to the cupola almost touching the boom equipment. I have tried to look at some photos of this area and it seems that the latter part is on a panel that moves upward being hinged at the rear so (I think) that the boom operator can see what they are r

  21. Could there be some of the few Marine CH-53Ds that operated in D Storm even in just 1/72, as they had some interesting schemes.
  22. I have seen pictures of Mk20s fitted to RAF Tornados, but they were not used in anger as the war had finished. I wonder if this wa the same with the Italian Tornados.
