  1. Thanks very much for the link, and the tip about the New England air museum. I just checked out their website they’ve got a couple of proper oddballs there. And I will shoot an email to them and inquire about the Vought archives.

  2. G’day all,

I’m hoping someone out here in the community might have some idea where any kind of scale drawings could be found and any other references for the vought SBU-1 and the Vought UO-1. I would like to take a shot at scratch building both of these guys in 1/72. As far as I can tell the UO-1 has never been kitted in any form at all and the only 1/72 SBU I am aware of is the old esoteric vac kit that I have been trying unsuccessfully to find for at least ten years now.

If anyone can point me in the right direction I would be extremely grateful.

  3. Hey, to anyone who has emailed or pm'd me. I apologise for not getting back to you yet. I've been dealing with some pretty intense personal issues that blew up a couple days after I made this post. I will be working through my pms and emails over the next couple days and get back to everyone in hopefully as close to the order as I was contacted.

I apologise again for not responding.

  5. Hmmm...shooting here also. I'm seeing a trend!

Like Rex mentions though, none of my other hobbies and "stuff" would ever eclipse model geeking, just part of who I am.

The only thing I geek out on more than modeling is fishing.

I used to be much bigger into shooting than I am now. The price of membership to my local range has just become stupid. So I'm limited to shooting trap and skeet from time to time.

  6. Kaman K-max. The Marines were using them (unmanned) to make supply drops to remote places in Afghanistan for a while. Wiki page

Attack squadron from Poland do a resin kit in 1/72. It is a truly gorgeous kit, I don't think I've ever seen nicer resin castings.

  7. Sorry I may have misspoken. Silly me, I have those sheets too. I was thinking more along the US gunship kind of helicopters in the overall grey schemes like the AH-1W. All your other helicopter sheets are really nice markings with lots of colour.

The whiskeys have been in service long enough with th USMC to have worn a number of different schemes. From the the old green gray and black, to solid sand and sand and gray in Dstorm to the current grays.

Looking forward to the 1/72 sheet Kursad.

  9. "Plus, it's VT for god's sake. Not exactly a state know for it's hard core support of the military. Doesn't take a 20 million dollar study to figure out that the AF is going to have a great deal of opposition from the locals. "

This broad brush statement is based on what? Your perception that Vermont is up north, and therefore "liberal". For you historical information Vermont is very proud of its patriotism as symbolized by "Green Mountain Boys".

BTW, my brother and nephews live in Vermont and both served bravely in USMC along with many other Vermonters in the area.

This lawsuit is about the environment and noise, and is being lead by a retired Air Force Colonel. It will be thrown out in court under the guise of national security. The Vermont ANG/AFR has a primary task of defending New York City and Boston air space and has deployed overseas to accomplish other assigned missions.

Lets be careful with attacking the patriotism and values of other states that are not Alabama. Ted Cruz learned that lesson last week in New York.

You should look to your own advice, and find out where someone is from before making the broad assumption that because it was a statement bashing the supposed patriotism of another state that it must have come from a southerner. Our man 11bee is I belive a New Englander.

  10. I had a 5.0 LX back in the day. Loved my Mustang but at some point we have to evolve. Gas ain't always gonna be < $2.00/gal.

I agree, but I still don't see any hope that the infrastructure for plug in EVs will ever be sufficient for the portion of the population that does not live in cities or own their own home.

And as far as my feeling about the 3, i think it is an overly conservative but decent exterior wrapped around an interior that is minimalist to the point of making IKEA designs look over wrought. And that whacking great screen just kind of stuck on seemingly as an afterthought is painful to look at.

  11. According to Elon Musk yesterday they expect deliveries before the end of 2017, and he said he was pretty certain they would meet that goal.

What in Tesla's unblemished record of failing to meet production goals makes you believe Musk now? If anyone sees one of these in their drive before late 2018 early 2019 I'll be shocked.
