If I remember correctly you still had to do surgery to the Hasegawa kit to remove the fillet. Its been a while since I've seen one in person though.  I think this is why we haven't seen Hasegawa really marketing a non-filleted Mustang despite the interest among modelers. Regardless, 1/48 is in dire need of a mainstream modern tooled OOB non-filleted early P-51D and lets just hope Airfix comes through.

    Cheers!

Typical hasegawa fashion. Tool one variant and box it as another variant and tell you cut n paste hear and so on.

  2. I've used squadron, tamiya,mr.hobby, and other fillers/putties. I feel that squadron seems to be very grainy but is easy to work with. tamiya and mr.hobby dry pretty fast but dry rock solid so sanding my be a pit tedious.

If i'm trying to fill small gaps or scratches, i'll thin the putty down with lacquer thinner or use mr.surfacer.

  3. I know there are a few SU-27 kits in 1/72 and I was wondering which is one is a combination on accuracy and ease of build. I'm not sure on which exact variant I want to build but it will be a single seat. variant. I see that hasegawa and trumpeter both have a one piece upper fuselage which is nice. this build will be strictly OOB. I have a few trumpeter kits but never used their decals. How do trumpy decals hold up?
