  1. I dunno either! I just pushes the button, guv'nor...but even with it totally switched off, all I get is 'This site can't be reached' on Chrome. My ANDROID phone, however, cracks it without a murmur -go figure! Now, I'm sure I saw Firefox (not the movie) in one of the drawers on this PC...will give that a shot too.
  2. Interesting...! (In deference to the sensibilities of fellow ARC connoisseurs, I won't share my tempera on gesso FW 190.)
  3. OK, thanks Sir -must be something my side. Ad-Blocker+ is making some other pages a little shaky, but even disabling it won't bring MM to life! Maybe I'll try it on me phone...
  4. I'm not sure p/e bits make a better model; they make a somewhat more filigree one with a bit of effort! I'm addicted to the stuff, and seem to ram masses of it into anything that will stand still long enough. First thing to note is that given the requirement to form some of it into 3D shapes, and given its insubstantial nature, unless you have a phenomenal natural dexterity you WILL trash a few bits at first. Don't let it put you off, just mark it down to experience. Going on from what dnl42 says^ (which is all excellent), things I found out: 1. Folding/shap
  5. Can't seem to get anything at all there for a few days now. Everything else is working fine...
  6. Excellent work, and a very interesting comparison.
  7. Wicked! I really love that paintwork; it suits The Sea Beast perfectly.
  8. Lovely! Must get around to mine one day...
  9. AIRES Instrument Panel almost done...yes, it even says 'DRAG CHUTE' on the uhm, drag chute toggle! There seems to be an issue here with Flickr 'share' links, so back to the soul-crushing slowness and sea of pop-ups that is Photobucket...UNTIL I TURNED ON GOOGLE AD-BLOCKER PLUS -DUUUHHH! The experience is...enlightening?
  10. A very interesting scheme. Like yourself, I can't wait to see it finished!
  11. Well Jari...that is AWESOME!!! Many, many thanks -I have a little light reading for the long summer evenings now!
  12. Cheers Mr H! Actually, Flickr seems to have lost me some definition; the pics were taken with a Galaxy Note 5 and magnified much smoother when I transferred them to the laptop...but you get the general idea. It wasn't painted with a bucket of tar and a mop -well, not all of it! There were some long 'holidays' taken during this project (including the Starfish GB fiasco), but I'm gonna try and dig in for the rest of it now! Also, I upgraded some of my scratch-work on the gear bays, which wasn't up to, erm, scratch! But I'll do some photos of that later.
  13. VERY belated thanks for the comment, crackerjazz -I thought I'd pop in a few shots of the cockpit; been working on it the last couple of days (just the panel to finish now) and it doesn't look too bad: ...right, seems I can no longer insert images from Flickr, so here are some links: Cockpit Sidewalls And one more of the seat; maybe a little better quality(!) Thanks for looking -more to follow!
  14. Nearly everything I see online about the Trumpeter Flagons is all about how just plain WRONG is everything about them. And yet the ones I see built are spectacular...and a new high bar has just been set!
  15. Very handy, and a beautiful display base too. Mr. Bowen should be delighted with this masterpiece!
  16. Before attaching etched parts, it's a good idea to lightly sand both the metal and plastic contact areas so the adhesive can key on to something. This is especially helpful on (comparatively) large, flat surfaces -and a reason not to like self-adhesive etched bits! Like dnl42 says, a flexible adhesive is a good move on areas like cockpit sills. Cyanoacrylate glue dries hard and brittle; very often the slightest flex of the plastic during handling will not translate to the adhesive layer, with the result that the bond simply breaks open. Gator's Grip is the best solution I've found,
  17. It is amazing to see this; my only sadness is I'll never get my 1/48 one looking that cool!
  18. Usually a few Verlinden ones around eBay -got mine from there for my eternal F-100D project; cost plenty but was/is invaluable!
  19. Not at all; PMs welcome! Only hope I can be of help...
  20. If you're doing Hannants I'd recommend the main site in Lowestoft; the London (Colindale) store is only open Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays; also it seems to be less well-stocked than a few years ago. There is the plus of being right next door to the Hendon RAF Museum, however...a lot of folk are not too impressed with that nowadays, but I still like visiting! If it's not miles out of your way, AJ Aviation at West Drayton is a small retail store which was once the proverbial Aladdin's Cave (then known as 'The Aviation Hobbyshop'). Whilst they no longer hold the same mas
  21. I have never understood this -often the same with actual kits too! "Think a-bout it, ya?!" What is the PRACTICAL difference in scaling down to 1/72? A few ounces of plastic or a little less paper! How much is that going to save???
  22. When folks talk about anything Star Trek...THAT'S what I'M talkin' about!!! (There really is only one! )
