Anybody know the backseater name for 106, cant quite make it out... also the leading edges of the wings and vert stabs looks to be fiberglass or sonething other than bare metal, any ideas?

I believe i asked this before but cant find the post, but can the hi-viz VF-1 bird be built from the box? If not are there any aftermarket decals out of there, ive only found one furball sheet and its sold out everywhere...

OK, I put my beer down, you should have unions on each end of the valve if its FPT, how are the unions secured to the pipe, sil-brazed?

The valve is bronze and the pipe is carbon steel. You run a big, and I mean big risk of damaging the probably already deteriorated pipe threads if you do a replacement of the valve. I would just replace the packing, much easier and much less risk. The valve itself is in perfect condition in terms of the reusable components. I would heat it a little if you can't get the bonnet to unscrew, but as always proceed with a delicate touch until you see how she's going hold up.

Free time is way better than Sprue brothers price wise and the same in regards to shipping time. Sprue has this weird cult following on their shipping which is total BS, dude just prints a label and people freak out, I haven't bought from them in years, there are much better deals on EBay and other vendors. That said Squadron has had the only real deals this year IMHO.

Tamiyas msks are not precut in any of their kit.

The only help I can give is that J models have the early cockpit.

I have a bunch of hasegawa kits, but not the early A, I'll find one sooner or later, but I agree the kit is great, so far best fitting kit I've ever built.

The way tamiya designed the kit the beaver tail will be a huge chore to modify. Hopefully, but unlikely, they will do an early A

Looks like you can't make a VF-1 ride from the kit, which sucks, and looks like it will require major surgery to replace the beaver tail. Man, I really wanted to do one too!

Tommy was sitting at their booth at the 2014 nationals too and how much trouble have they had since then.

The bottom line is if you show someone else's built model, say its someone else's built model. Believe it or not, Im not searching every thread to determine who built it, if you post a pic of model without doing so, I think you built it. its common curtosy to give credit every time you copy their work. What you did is exactly how it starts. Period. As an occasional paid aviation photographer I know its nearly impossible to keep up with pictures of actual planes. I only release my work beyond friends when I sell it for this exact reason.

The atac jets fly over my house nearly every day, never get tired of seeing them.

The bottom line is for the money its really weak. If amk takes two years to get it right, why wouldn't any sane person wait? I've seen the kit in person and fondled it and it has shape issues that are more comprehensive than this correction set addresses. If you have one already chances are you'd have to give it away so this set is a win in regards to fixing some of the issues, if not run, and buildsomethinbg else until amk can give it the attention it deserves, unlike shitty hawk they are passionate about their work...

Nice stuff but why waste even more money fixing up shitty hawks half hearted garbage when AMK has already said they are doing one. Don't get me wrong the parts look nice, but for the amount you'd have invested after buying the kit and the resin will be nuts....

K(Sh)itty Hawk will not replace anything. Their mouth piece here is a total waste of perfectly good air. I tried to get some short shot parts replaced and was completely blown off. I've had good luck with Tamiya, my P-51 canopy had some sort of weird distortion in it,Dragon and Meng, although Meng will only ship parts to the store you got it from.

I bought a dragon Saturn V and a meng SPH from Sprue brothers and they both were missing parts. I know multiple people that have had major problems with Kitty Hawk kits missing parts/short shot as well.
