  1. After yesterday's show at Volkel AFB in The Netherlands, I just have to make this model as well!! Thanks for your inspirational work!
  2. Ah, Finow-Eberswalde... I remember the days I was there with a Canon 1000FN and dozens of Kodachrome 64 films to document every single MiG-29 and MiG-23 they had over there.... Finow Open Day, Finow Withdrawal... Sigh...Those were the days... (me wanna buy a MiG-29 box now....)
  3. WOW, that's great! I could only find the very thick Stars and Moons on the walls of my kids bedroom ;) Another "gotta have" item for my comeback to the world of modelling. Great tip, thanks!
  4. One of the non-aircraft models I've got waiting to be build someday is the 1/24 Trumpeter American LaFrance firetruck which, together with my 1/24 Revell Chevrolet Caprices, is going to be in a diorama. I haven't been able to locate any Dallas Fire department decals so far (on ebay or elsewhere), would anyone be willing and able to make those? I understand from reading the forums, some folks make their own decals. I wouldnt know how to, so if anyone could possibly assist? Thanks René
  5. Aha, sorry, didn't realize it was 1/48 scale! Goodluck on the search!! René
  6. I have located some leftover decals from my very very old Hasegawa F-16s, Some from Hahn (HR code)and some AF and digits to go along and some for Spangdahlem (from Xtradecal) F-4's and F-16s. This sheet has suffered light- or waterdamage, there's a brown spot over some of the codes. Greets René
  7. I've been going through my supply of decals from years and years ago. I have from the Italeri F-104 kit the German decals and from the Dutch Decal set 72006 the aircraft markings and stencils If any of those would help, let me know Greets René
  8. I haven't been able to establish any contact with the Dallas PD in the past few years when I asked them for information and pictures of older vehicles. I did manage to get in contact with someone from the Dallas Police Museum who was very helpful with a CD containing scanned pics from 1992, a larger than needed original shield-doordecal and even pieces of original decals for a Caprice. These came in very handy for the company here that did the decal-work on mine! At this moment this guy is even trying to get me an original 90's MDT for in my Caprice :D :D I'm now busy detailling the car (jus
  9. Thanks for the friendly welcome!! A round of drinks for all of you, alcoholic or non-alcoholic is optional :D :D Some of the models from when I was young are still in my old room at mom's and dad's, I'll try to get a couple over here for pics. For your viewing pleasure, my restored 1992 Caprice in Dallas PD colors! Here when I picked it up 3 weeks ago at the company that did the decals for me Proud owner! Glad to be here! René
  10. Thanks for the tip! I directly did a search and found a 1/32 Huey Gunship by Revell for sale here nearby, gonna get that one too :D
  11. Hello there modellers, I'm new to this forum as member (though I've been reading the Huey topic for quite a while now) and thought I ought to introduce myself. I'm René, from Amsterdam in The Netherlands, 40 years old/young and about to make a comeback to the hobby of modelling. I was a fanatic modeler up untill I was about 18 or 19 or so, but by then other things became more important. I only made aircraft, military mainly, in the 1/72 scale and was a dedicated Hasegawa and Tamiya buyer. Being a military spotter I focussed on building 1/72 F-16's from the Royal Netherlands Airforce from v
  12. I've been following this topic for a while now and just decided to register as member of ARC to let you know that I'm inspired by the amazing work and detail you've been able to do on this Huey! Back when I was young I made lots and lots of model aircraft, stopped when I was about 19 years old, with still a good 70 boxes with plastic that needed to be built. Now, at the age of 40, I want to pick up on building models again and this topic has been fueling my drive to start making models again up to the point that I've purchased a 1/48 Huey. Keep on going with supplying us with pictures and s
