Video:Plane crashes into SUV on runway in Texas
streetstream replied to HOLMES's topic in General Discussion
Sorry, but i have to give my 2 cents. Everybody is quick to blame the SUV driver, but let us deal with facts and not assumptions. 1) The road is a private one and not airport property. So claiming he has to abide to ground traffic rulles is no longer an argument. 2) There is only a badly painted sign on the road. No sign on a pole, and no context. Stop for what? If they don't know the region or the road, how would they know they have to look out for an airplane. Seriously, think about it. 3) The pilot was way to low and stalling. As someone pointed out, if there was never an SUV to hit, t -
I hope you continue because the project zo far is looking great (and i have a A340 is my stash so i can learn a few tricks along the way) .

Shortly after 15h00 a Belgian F-16 taking off of Kleine Brogel air force base crashed after the pilot ejected. The plane crashed in a remote area, about 600 meters from the end of the runway, and nobody, including the pilot, got hurt. I hope to learn more about the crash later today, as a friend of mine workes on the base as a crewchief.

Syrian rebels 'shoot down fighter jet' ..AJE sais...
streetstream replied to mingwin's topic in General Discussion
The video is blurry, so we can't make judgements for sure, but a Stinger leaves a trail of smoke which i can't see in the video. AA guns also produce smoke and fire, which again, i can't see. It looks to me as if the plane had a mechanical failure and Syrian rebels claim it as a shoot down. -
Wow, what an amazing details. I just love the cockpitwindow. I don't like windowdecals myself.

I'm not a big fan. The font of the word 'UNITED' is a bit simple and the livery is a recycled continetal livery (since the merger), so actually the only change is the 'wave' which almost every 787 owner does. The plane however is a beauty. i'm an Airbus man myself, but this 787 is a great move by Boeing and this will be a plane that will make the historybooks.

Revell has announced that it will re-release the 747 SCA in 1/144. This is good news for anybody trying to build the 747-200 with JT9D engines, as this kit has them (if i'm not mistaken). Kinda sad that i have in my stash a SCA that i paid more than 60 euros for as this kit will probably be around the 25 euro mark. But hey, we get a 747-200 with JT9D engines. I know what i'm asking for Christmas.

The paint on the wings and horizontal stabilizers looks amazing.
-
Very nice build, but i think you made one mistake. It looks like you put your nose landing gear strut on backwards. I think that can be solved without much trouble. Other than that, great build. The 200 is my favorite 777.

Man, that looks like a great experience.

Yes, and untill they were told he was captured alive and well, Gary Powers was flying a weather research plane that went into Sovjet airspace on autopilot after reporting a problem with his oxygen system. Propaganda happens on both sides in every conflict. The US is no exception. So your article has even less weight to being true than a man sitting in front of you explaining what happend. This being said, i'm not judging which of the two is right, because neither source can be backed up. Now, untill you have prove that the story is untrue (and finding a article writen in the cold war era i

I did some planespotting at EBBR yesterday and was surprised to see a RAF VC-10 land there. Man, that thing is loud. Other than that it was a great day for spotting: 7x Airbus A330 (my number two favorite airliner) 4x Boeing 767 (De Delta airlines 767's with winglets look much better than the 'regular' one.) 1x Boeing 777 (one big *ss plane. Had to zoom out quite a bit to get it in frame. BTW, the united 777 was in the old continental colors with united titles. ***? ) 1x Airbus A310 (my favorite airliner) 1x Embraer E175 (Look 1x Embraer E195 1x A319 British airways 'Dove' -sheme.

Ryan air 737 hit AA 767 and keeps going :S
streetstream replied to streetstream's topic in General Discussion
Which brings me to a interresting point. What rules apply in this case? The United States' (the airliner being hit) rules or the Irish (the airliner that caused the hit) or the Spanish rules (the airport where the incident happend)? -

That isn't really the point now, is it? -
Ryan air 737 hit AA 767 and keeps going :S
streetstream replied to streetstream's topic in General Discussion
Actually, it turns out she did know about the crash and even her co-pilot should have known because he was watching the wing when she passed the 767 because she knew she was cutting it close. BTW, the passengers reported it 3 times. The final time after landing and she still flew back to Barcelona. -
Actually, that is pretty cool. I still like the full models more, but if you want to hang something on a wall, this is the way to go. And if you have to chose an aircraft, the tornado is in my favorite fighters list.

Basically, a Ryan air 737-800 was trying to pass an American Airlines 767-300 at the end of a taxiway, but clipped the left side elevator of the 767 with it's right side winglet. It was a small bump, so it could be that neither pilot felt it. But a passenger on the ryan air 737 saw the contact and allerted a crew member. However, when the pilot was informed of the hit, she elected to take off anyway. Both planes landed safely at their destination. The incident happend in april 2011. The Damage: 767-300's elevator 737-800's winglet And a diagram showing how they hit. A link to the

well i have the same problem with the JT9D engines, so i contacted Welsh models, because they have a vacuform 747 kit with resin JT9 engines and they told me they will be releasing a 747 engine and landing gear package with the JT9 engines with two diffent pylon options. I hope we will see it soon and in good quantities.

Wow! Just wow. I love the L-39 ever since it featured in the James Bond film Tommorow never dies. It is a great looking jet.

One decent 1/144 injection molded MD-11 kit. Is that so hard? I would love to see it. Anyway, very nice model. It looks great. Any plans to weather her up?

"But despite the USAF having found the root cause of the hypoxia problems, the service will maintain most of the restrictions imposed upon the F-22 fleet until the all of the modifications reach operational flight crews." So the safety measures taken to protect the crew will remain in effect until the aircraft are fixed. Great strategy there, Einstein.

Man (or men) shoot and kill 14 in movietheater
streetstream replied to streetstream's topic in General Discussion
Are you serious? First of all, take some Valium and calm down. And second of all, aren't you the one who was posting about a veretan who died? That isn't really the good news show either. And some advice, in a few days, read your own post again and see if you can spot how it is totally out of proportion. If you can't, i advice you to do some angermanagement. -
