As far as i know, it isn't in production anymore. I am looking for several copies myself. There are rumors that it will be reissued in the near future because of the A330 MRTT, but those are not confirmed yet. If it helps, you could use the A340 kit (still in production) and lose the center main gear and get some aftermarket engines and end up with an A330 sseing as the fuselage and wings of an A330 and A340 are the same (except for the mentioned main gear bay and a few flaps which can be scribed). The conversion from A340 to A330 sounds more difficult than it really is. If i find some eng

Sea Vixen mishap at Bournemouth Airport

I hope the jet flies again soon. She is a beauty. -
Hope this helps. Be sure to check out the little hump.

Kev, be sure to check one thing first. You are building a 737-300 and the decals mentioned by Commander Botha are for a 737-600 to 737-900.

Love it. I like how the nosebuldge is seperat unlike the AZ models kit. Wish i would have know about this kit before i bought and build the AZ models one. That one was a bit difficult.

I think we found our buyer Just kidding :P :D -
Well this is one crazy build. Some of the mods i really like, some other i can't picture yet, so i won't judge. But one question i have, you place a piece of clear plastic in front of the windscreen opening and than blend it in. Doesn't this change the profile of the cockpit area?

There is a video of it. On youtube it is titled: 'Mishap of B-52 at Fairchild Air Force Base Washington'. At about 4:50 it shows the low pass over the ridge.
-
Look at that bird gleam. I can almost hear the engines roaring.
-
There you go, problem solved.

I concur. It's a very nice build and i wonder how those panels will look after some primer. Plus, i would like to see what you are going to do with the cabinwindows.
-
Very nice build. I have one in my stash too. It will be a Sabena one. But, can i point out one mistake? I believe the nose landing gear doors close even with the gear down. But, once again, great build.

Biased pilot vs unbiased watcher. BTW, if you're done with it, than stop.

I don't mean 'you' as in specificly you, but more in a general sence like the sentence: if you do the crime, you have to do the time. I know he gave his opinion and i respect that, but never the less it is an opinion. I repeat, i respect his opinion, but i have a different one for the moment and if in time i'll be proven wrong, i'll admit it.
-
Look, you can have your opinion and i can have mine. If you believe this isn't hotdogging, but more a very standard maneuver seen hunderds of times that someone just had to videotape, fine. I think otherwise. No more, no less.
-
Where am i matching wits? And your opinion is because you fly something you always know how a crash has happend? I drive a car too. Still doesn't make me a crash expert. Anyone can currently go on what is seen in the video. What i see is an pilot doing a maneuver for no reason.
-
So they make an LZ to land, there are dozens of guys running around and still the pilot has to check it to see if there are obstacles flying 6 feet of the ground (because if there is an obstacle, be sure to hit it at the fly-by), at 100mph. And than you claim people in a warzone walk around cassualy but run when a 50 cal is shot at a helicopter. So they don't fear rebels will shoot 50 people who are sitting ducks, but they fear they will shoot down an apache which has never been done before. Sure.
-
People on the ground are just casualy walking around. Do you really believe this is a hostile area where they have to worry about exposure time? If he landed it on his first pass, in stead of making a low fly-by, he would have had zero exposure time. Or are you gonna tell me that this is always done to 'check' the LZ?
-
I read it and reread it. Now a question for you: Was the maneuver he was doing necessary for landing his helicopter or could he have simply landed it? And a second question: Do you believe that if none of his buddies were there he would do the same? You can sugar coat it all you want, he didn't have to do what he did and it was only to impresse people on the ground. That being said is kinda what hotdogging is.
-
I believe the pain to his face is much worse since he smached his face on the consoles when he hit the ground.
-
Was the pilot doing a maneuver that was not necessary and is puching the ability of the aircraft? If so, it's hotdogging. It could be that there is a failure on the apache and without it he/she wouldn't have crashed, but that doesn't change the fact that it was hotdogging. It's not because you complete a maneuver succesfully, that it isn't hotdogging.
-
Look, we can discusse this all day long, but let us look at some facts: Is this a standard maneuver? Yes Was he trained and equiped to do the maneuver? Yes Was it usefull in this situation? No Were their enemy targets he was engaging? No Did he perform the maneuver correctly? No Was there any reason other than impressing people on the ground to do this? Not likely Conclusion: He was hotdogging and sadly for him, it ended bad.

1/300 Zhengdefu Airbus A340-313 Review/Preview

Why do you huys hate trumpeter so much? I have the IL 76 kit and apart from the engines, it looks nice. -
Ok i see what you are trying to point out, but i was not wondering if they would develope the 747-8 kit from the 747-4 kit, but merely pointing out that the 747-4 had it's faults and hoping they don't make the same mistake even when developing from scratch. I could be that they made the same or a similar grave error on the new kit. But enough about guessing if the new kit might have faults, just wanted to say thanks for the info and i hope, as i'm sure you do, that the kit will be a gem.
