1/48 - Sukhoi Su-35 "Flanker-E" by Great Wall Hobby
Type 40 replied to sda1976's topic in Jet Modeling
Mine arrived as well - it's an amazing kit! The level of detail (especially around the cockpit) has to be seen to be believed... and don't stress about the much-maligned panel line across the upper fuselage: it's slightly too heavy, but I reckon it'll look almost perfect under some paint. The photos that were posted here seemed to exaggerate it's depth/width... it doesn't look like a major problem in the flesh. Well done GWH - we need an Su-30SM next! You know one of the best things about this kit? One of our own had a big hand in making it a reality. @y -
You might be thinking of the Kittyhawk II/IIa... that's the RAF/Commonwealth equivalent of the P-40F/L. The P-40B/C was called the Tomahawk, the P-40D onwards was called the Kittyhawk. From what I understand, there's no difference between the two Airfix releases, except the decals... although I'm not 100% sure! The RAF/Commonwealth versions used .303 guns of course, and I seem to remember the pitot being different from the US versions? I have the Tomahawk boxing, and grabbed the Master set (http://www.master-model.pl/product/am-48-136.html) as well. I'll be doing an RAAF versio

Get off your high horse, for God's sake. You're a victim, we get it. It's absolutely clear to me as to why this forum is dying. -
Another thumbs-up for AMUR Reaver; I've got a lot of their products (Su-27/30 nozzles, Su-35 nozzles, photoetch etc.), and the quality is absolutely first-class. The nozzles you've linked to are designed for the KH Su-35; hopefully they'll fit the GWH kit too, when it's released. I've ordered directly from the manufacturer each time, and had absolutely no issues; Rust (the owner) is really friendly (and quick to respond to emails), the items are packed really well, and the shipping time from Russia to Australia is lightning-fast. Faster than products shipped from the US or UK to

1/48 Kinetic F-18A+ F-18B CF-188 Hornet cockpit aftermarket inquiry
Type 40 replied to Gunny's topic in Jet Modeling
Hi Gunny, Don't know about resin sets, but I used two of the following Dream PE sets for my twin-seat Kinetic F/A-18B: http://www.luckymodel.com/scale.aspx?item_no=DMC48025 They're designed for the single-seat models (both "A" and "C") produced by Kinetic... so I just used two of them for my RAAF "B", and they worked really well. From what I understand, there isn't any noticeable difference inside the cockpit between Classic variants... well, not enough to make me lie awake at night, anyway! Hope this helps. -
Scale Aircraft Conversions make metal landing gear for many different types... have a look here at Hannants: https://goo.gl/FyDA3q Looks like they make a set for the GWH F-15B/C/D... I'm not an expert on the Eagle's undercarriage, but perhaps this type would be the same as an E or I model? Then again, I'm guessing that since they carry heavier loads, perhaps the U/C is beefed-up more than the fighter versions? They do make a set for the Academy F-15I, so perhaps that could be an option for you... Hope this helps!

1/48 AMK MiG-31BM/BSM Limited Edition
Type 40 replied to Martin @ AMK Models's topic in Jet Modeling
Couldn't agree more! The packaging is superb, as is the quality of the parts... not that I'd expect anything less from AMK! I also concur with the recommendation about Sincere Hobby: I'd never bought from them before this, but I definitely will do so again. Fast postage to Melbourne AU, items well-packed, and excellent customer service. -

For what it's worth mate, I laughed myself silly when I saw it; I haven't been Rickrolled in ages! It's a dying art... B)
-
Ignore it; it's a RickRoll - i.e. not a video of the Blue Angels. The uploader (Thanks Micro - the early 2000s called and wants its meme back!) has removed it since, anyway. In case you don't know what a RickRoll is: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rickrolling

Looks like another example of Kinetic reading the forums... didn't somebody suggest this a while ago on here? http://www.luckymodel.com/scale.aspx?item_no=SW-48029 8 x R-73 Archer 8 x R-27ER Alamo 8 x R-27ET Alamo ...and a bunch of pylons to boot. Looks like we'll be able to have a full set of pylons and missiles on our Kinetic Su-33s after all... with spare Alamos left-over to hang off our Iranian F-14s! ;)/> Bring on a US/NATO set: I'm sick of buying aftermarket resin ASRAAMs and they being warped beyond saving!

I know I'm quick off the mark (!), but your pre-order link is redirecting to your C-45 Expeditor page: http://caracalmodels.com/cd48079.html.

Mate, you should reconsider - Japan is amazing! It's a completely alien culture to what you're used to at home, but that's half the fun; combine it with amazing infrastructure (300km/hr trains!), terrific food, and possibly the most courteous people on Earth, and you've got an experience you'll never forget. Get over there! :D/> Oh, and did I mention that pretty much every second shop is a hobby store? :woo:/>
-
Hehe - I went there for the first time a couple of years ago... I actually had to buy a second suitcase whilst I was there in order to get my haul home! Thank god kits aren't really heavy, just bulky: exceeding your luggage weight allowance can be expensive. Ask me how I know... ;)/>/>/>
