  1. Well, the Grumman Iron Works GB starts next month
  2. Ooh, ooh, there are 2 from Los Alamitos! Here and here. This Los Alamitos F4U-4 was in the recent ANG group build. There are also pix of TBM and F6F from Los Al, too. I'm just sayin...
  3. Given the Wikipedia article and various photos, looks like you need to know specifically whether your planned aircraft had 2 or 4 0.303 MGs (e.g., here and here). Does anybody understand why the 6lb cannon was offset? On the B25, the offset cleared the nose LG. On the A-10, the GAU-8 was offset to ensure the firing barrel was on the center-line and the nose LG was offset.
  4. It would. I'm fairly certain I have the decals for that. So would this picture of "Zośka", BH-Z, Z1407. Would be interesting building that lattice framework...
  5. Here's a color pic of Spitfire IX ZX-1, EN459 in Tunisia, Spring 1943. The aircraft was piloted by Flt Lt. Horbaczewski,
  6. For both of the kits. As shown in the instructions, it also include early C-, late C-, and E-type wings. IMO, it's a good deal when you consider 1/48 Spitfire plastic is going for $19-$26 in a quick Sprue Bros scan...
  7. Norm, Thank you for ensuring freedom was passed on to the next generation. Thank you for your service and sacrifice.
  8. IIRC, an article on Future claimed adding Simple Green will produce a very high-gloss finish. OK, some quick googling confirms many mentions of this; you'll need to research this to find the proportions. As repeatedly noted, surface prep is always key to any finish... Having written that, I've never been happy with my Future results, but that's something I need to figure out...
  9. Horizontal stabilizer for a 1/144 C-54. Wooden floors. No excuse. Dumb as a post. Having written that, I have had small PE bits fly off yet still found them. Go figure...
  10. Anybody have the Afterburner Decals 1/48 F-16 Air National Guard Viper Wing Kings II they're willing to part with? I'm looking for the markings for the 174th TFW NY ANG "Boys From Syracuse". Thanks for looking...
  11. Thanks for sharing that! This article has some more of the story. It does a soul good to see special attention paid to moments like this. I especially like it when it's done before the general public, to get them thinking about the sacrifices made by our military members and their families. For all who are serving and who have served, I am immensely grateful and thankful.
  12. That is a really cool site!
  13. Excellent dealings. We arranged the deal quickly, the bits arrived exactly as described. Well done
  14. The OP wants 1/72 props, which Obscureco doesn't list. But, I just found those 1/48 props, and I'll get them instead of the Ultracast. In any event, both Ultracast and Obscureco confirm the Hellcat props will work.
  15. According to Ultracast, the F4U-1D Corsair, F6F-3/5 Hellcat, TBM-3 Avenger, and F7F Tigercat all used the Hamilton Standard 13' 1" 3-blade prop. I'll need these for the 1/48 AMT F7F...
  16. That is what the vids I linked earlier show. The ALQ-167 was not carried?
  17. The TwoBobs/TwoMikes 2012 IPMS Nationals OPFOR Super Pack shows an ACMI & ALQ-167 on F-14A 161869--I'll do an HB F-14A in this scheme. , , and are some vids, but not the Powder Puff scheme.
  18. I use this for surfaces that are flat or simple curves. As noted, it's easy to see where to cut. But, it doesn't stretch. I use Tamiya on compound curves because it will stretch nicely. In this case, I lay it along the edge carefully along the frame and only cut the ends. As noted, don't forget to burnish the tape edges. Oh, and welcome to our crazy part of the universe. Have fun!
  19. That 1/32 Trumpeter F-14D Grim Reapers is a truly amazing build. You are a master of weathering--truly the weakest of my skills--and I am in awe... Outstanding job!
  20. It arrived days ago and you still haven't opened the box? Days! Really?
  21. Congratulations! Be proud of what you've accomplished and how you did it.
  22. Where are these California Air Tools compressors built?
  23. I just received the military version (90033) kit this week. Very fine detail, very delicate parts. No flash nor mis-registration apparent. The main rotor is comprised of 12 parts; the tail, 5. Markings are for a single aircraft, Air Force School in Dęblin, Nov 16, 2006.
