  2. The throttle had a body and 4 individual levers. The body was folded up nicely, including the rounded top. I picked it up with some tweezers to figure out where to put the 4 levers and, well, that was the last I saw of the body. I do find I need to study the Part directions fairly carefully. Even with that, I still find that some bits only make sense as I'm actually building the thing. Once it's built though, it's a pretty neat unit to replace the crude bits in the kit.
  3. I've started on the Mirage 1:48 Lublin R.XIII D. This was originally a Spojnia molding, Mirage added two color options plus a note on a variation on one of the two. I'm going for aircraft 56-115, from the 26th Observation Flight, 2nd Air Regiment, Krakow--I like the unit badge :) Here's the current box: One of the wing struts is pretty warped.   4. Very nice! You did some serious work on that kit. I have a soft place in my heart--OK, maybe my head--for some of these old kits of rare subjects. But, in this case, nice modern 1:48 is available. Modern 1:48 kits (w/ a small PE fret and a resin bit) are available from Mirage. They have the 11.c in various forms (fighter, fighter-bomber, export); I have all three of these. Part has their typically extensive PE for this, too.   5. Nice work! I just started on the very kit--in the Mirage boxing--and the Part PE set. Studying the instructions on the PE trying to grok the layout. Your pictures help! Just ordered the Profile on this A/C, so that should help some more. And yes, agree that Part PE is really outstanding!

  7. Where? I did a forum search for your string and couldn't find it... I've got a Williams Corbin Super Ace, Testors (nee Hawk) Curtiss R3C-2, and Revell Spirit of St Louis built; I'm hoping the former two will show up in SAMI's Classic Plastic soon. In the stash are various PZL, PWS, and Lublin inter-war as well as several English, French, and German WWI that will all be done in Polish colors. I just got the bits to do a Tante Ju (Ju 52/3m) as LOT SP-AKX. Sourcing the 3-blade props was a bear, but I got three Ultracast 13'1" Hamilton-Standard props that it looks like I can bash into shape.
  8. Excellent subjects! Especially the Cayley Glider. Did you resistance solder these? If so, what is the make/model of the tool? If not, how do you recommend soldering these to avoid unsoldering whack-a-mole? Is Hannants and Luchtvaart the only online retailers? Wish they were 1:48. But hey, I can only get X-planes in 72, so perhaps these and the x-planes in 72 isn't so bad...

  11. Adding more detail. According to "303 Squadron", Ferić had 1 victory in P3700 RF-E, a Bf 109 on 6 September; Wûnsche baled out of this aircraft on 9 September. Urbanowicz had 9 victories in P3901 RF-E: (1) He 111 on 26 September, (1) Do 117, (1) Bf 109, and (2) Ju 88 on 27 September, and (3) Bf 109 and (1) Do 215 on 30 September. Also in this book (Aquila Polonica, 2010) is a photo of 3700 RF-E with the Kościuszko Squadron shield under the cockpit (Ch 10, p96). Other photos show RF-B and V6665 RF-J (Chapter 19, p187 and 188 respectively) with the shield under the aerial mast. Chapter 15, p144
