  1. Installed the Bay load doors....they are very nice and actually works great.. ! Pity the bayload doors have to be glue in closed position :o ....this depict the Shuttle in landing. They are really very nice and detailed. The doors fit perfectly...as typical Tamiya quality kit. More to come as progress still on going...stay tuned!
  2. A little more work on the cockpit...it needs to be 'adjusted' and conforms to the cockpit decal...hmm  the clear windows sits a bit high when compare to the real Shuttle cockpit. Once the cockpit windows are aligned correctly with the decal..I'll move on to the other section that needs upgrade or correction like the tail drag compartment & main wing tips. Well.. that's the hard or fun part I hope to get it done before model is ready for paint! work continues...
  3. After a long break...this Shuttle get additional works.. The fuselage and cockpit seams are finished and sanded smooth. most of the major work are done in preparing the model for base spray. Next to work will be the tail section & SSME bulkhead. Work continues...
  4. Once decals and finishing touches are done...Flat clear will seal the model.... I am getting the shapeways 3D-parts to upgrade the model soon. Cheers
  5. Weathered the upper hull at last..! :rolleyes:/> A little more to work on the rear engine deck. Frontal shot.. Should be getting closer to decalling next...!
  6. Thanks Jay, The weathered color on the first pass looks too dark and showed up in photography, so I toned them down a bit light. The markings detailing with kit supplied decals goes in after this..... :unsure:/>/>/> After toned down and dry brushed them, I'll move to the hull upper section. I managed to alter the side walls details considerably as Bandai molded them both as mirrored parts. The actual movie studio model has different details on each sidewalls. Still lots of weathering needed on the upper hull, the streaks and laser damage takes time to duplicate. Until m
  7. Weathering done on hull bottom... Decals detailing once upper hull is finished. Getting closer... :rolleyes:/>
  8. Lower rear left Hull.....more later.
  9. Weathering progress..slow work....bit of Hull section at a time. Decaling goes later after panel weathering...
  10. A little update on progress here..Painted the saucer hulls in basic colors. The Studio Millennium Falcon has various shades of colors mixes..white..grays..brown..etc. I've tried to replicate the studio closely. Next step is to tone the panel colors and add weathering effects..... Until then..cheers..
  11. Mike, Manfred's right... When are you gonna continue another masterpiece work on the Airfix Shuttle stack?? All the Shuttles are already retired! Perhaps there are new ways to motivate you going again... George
  12. Thanks Guys, The Bandai kit of the Millennium Falcon in fact is the best and movie accurate model for now... I've bought few of this kit..so different versions can be modelled later... :woot.gif:/> Cheers, Jetplane
  13. Painted shades of the main hull and side walls... Little more progress before the first main coat... Cheers..
  14. Hi, Just started my Bandai Millennium Falcon after watching the latest Star Wars-The Force Awakens. Firstly begin work by thinning down the cockpit frames.. Painting the Cockpit. :rolleyes:/>/>/> The model at 1/144 scale..its very small! Since its a snap fit kit and very precise..no glue is require... Work continues... :unsure:/> bye for now! Jetplane..
  15. Some addition photos for viewing..this Airfix Shuttle kit is pretty old. It has little faults and minor inaccuracies.. I had a tiles decals made in 1/144..but it was a little too late to use on this Shuttle. Enjoy viewing folks! Cheers...
  16. The cockpit installed and fuselage are assembled..the fit is perfect! Its now time to smooth the seams and detail the windows..more pictures later.... :rolleyes:/>/> basis frame for cockpit windows added..it will be covered by decals. Back to the work bench...! :crying2:/>/>
  17. A Little progress made here.... painting and detail the cockpit. I realized that not much can be seen after the cockpit is installed into the Shuttle.. <_< So it was kept simple and I painted it accordingly to the Assembly Instructions. Well ....more updates later Cheers.
  18. Thanks Guys, Pete, your Tamiya Endeavour Shuttle gave inspiration to build a Space Shuttle in 1/100 scale. I guess in this scale the Shuttle is mid-way between 1/72 & 1/144. Those are photocopies windows of Kit decals I used to align up the cockpit windows and see how well they match up. Once I aligned them correctly, I'll work out the windows outline edges. I'm working on cockpit interior now and painting them before closing the fuselage halves...pictures to follow once done. Well..this is actually my first Tamiya Shuttle kit I am building! Cheers, George
  19. Well..here's bit...align the windows of the cockpit and drilling out the Star Tracking ports. more to come soon...... :rolleyes:/> :rolleyes:/> Jetplane

  22. Hi Hotdog, Do you make the white tiles decals pattern with that 'brick' pattern too? They are for cockpit cabin top, wings, OMS pods, tail and fuselage sections in some early version. In addition can you do the windows decals too in 1/100, 1/144 scale? Cheers, George
  23. [Thanks for the kind comments guys..!! More Shuttles to come. Cheers George
  24. Hotdog, This old Airfix model was built earlier as OV-099, it had a mishap accident by falling off the desk! The damage resulted in cracks on the front section, broke off OMS pods and sections on the belly bottom. I decide to rebuild her as OV-102 in early guise. The Old Shuttle decals I had was custom made from a friend was put in use plus RSM decal set.various strips of black decals are also use to detail the model. Yes..the SSMEs are from RSM. George
  25. Second Flight of OV-102 STS-2. Old 1/144 kit by Airfix...in memory of the lost Orbiter and her crew which is the very first Shuttle to fly into space. :salute:/> Mission Patch Frontal shot depicting her Landing. Cheers, George
