  1. Thanks, Here's picture to show the size of a 1/72 Shuttle-handheld.
  2. Great progress there Marco, Its good to see another Shuttle Atlantis coming up.. STS-61-B should look similar to STS-86. Your approach is similar to Mike's Shuttle (Crowe-t) build up... interesting to see a Aifix Shuttle being upgraded. Let's see who gets the Shuttle build up soon..ha!..ha!..ha!! Good Luck to you guys. George
  3. Decal in progress, it took a whole day to apply them, not quite finish... Ship getting its name... Under belly-bottom toned down. Awaiting her SSMEs...
  4. Finished her black tile painting, the RCS wing leading edge and nose cap done..a few more position adjustment and toning down the belly bottom. Lower side view fuselage, belly needs tone down. Will start putting decals for small details. The Ship title name and large marking will be first step to apply to determine their correct postion on the Orbiter.
  5. 1/72 old Monogram kit with tiles decals, OBB with early version of Challenger no weathering as Orbiter is quite new. Rear view with SSME FOD covers Cockpit has details with 2 astronauts in flight deck
  6. Additional close up photos... The SCA depicted is N905NA
  7. Mriccio, Great works so far on this Airfix Shuttle. Your effort pays off. Yes..I see more Shuttle getting build as in Shuttle Madness.. Seems that Atlantis is a popular Orbiter.. Please keep us posted with more pictures. My own STS-86 is almost ready. George
  8. Wow... outstanding SCA in both versions... Atlast somebody build the ALT Enterprise accurately and looks good too.!
  9. The SCA B747 looks okay, but seems the JT9D engines are a bit over-sized,and the engine pylon is not quite right with the shape. I suspected it is modelled after the new CF6.? The hump on the B747 looks a bit odd. the nose and cockpit section appears to be correct. For the Orbiter, it does not have the update tail with drag chute housing. look closely the clear front nose section has a outline of the entry hatch on the right side..which is wrong! The main wings is nicely depict with flaps down and the chines have correctly sharp leading edge which is not found in the Airfix or revell Sh
  10. ..some slow progress with black tiles painting done! Belly bottom preshaded weathering The RCS Leading Edge and nose cap are final to paint. Decal will be apply soon....
  11. The CF6 are kit's...in fact all oob built except the decals.
  12. Old 1/144 kit Columbia as early STS-2. Almost an OOB built except for RSM Resin SSME.
  13. Thanks for the comments, yes, Revell Shuttle pods are oddly shaped, It'll be another task to correct them and a major overhaul for the tail cone fairing to fit them too. I choose to keep them simple and concentrate on detailing & painting the SCA/Shuttle.
  14. Yeah Mark, I left them off to do some color variations & weathering later on. I find it has nice effect, using some tape materials as AFRSI makes them fuselage looks thicker and somewhat out of scale. I'll see what can I do to replicate AFRSI in my next 1/72 Shuttle project.
  15. Hey Andy, Welcome to ARC Shuttle Forums....are you modelling Discovery OV-103 with your 1/72? Yeah a lot has been said of Enterprise....but no much thought is given to build her..Enterprise is a very simple Shuttle, but she has the honour to be the first Shuttle to fly as test article. Someday i'll build a model of Enterprise. Cheers, George
  16. Hi Pete I've learn that RealSpacemodel both 1/72 & 1/144 updated decal set includes the 'No Step' on the wing flipper panels. Here's the link http://www.realspacemodels.com/html/decals.htm I'll get a few set from Glenn of RSM for my shuttles soon. George
  17. Here's another 1/144 B747-400 with GE engines, As most airliner folks know that 1/144 Revell B747-400 nose is not particularly well accurate. Little changes made to nose as this is my first airliner I built. The wings are altered a bit downwards at the trailing edge. Below main wing lowered and repostioned correctly.
  18. I think that's the wing seal joint you mentioned, its made from thin strip of plastic. B747-400 has different shape on this joint. I'm working on another B747-400 soon.
  19. Thanks, Additonal photos as closer view: Outbound engine P & W-JT9D
  20. Wowww... Another 1/144 Shuttle Atlantis..its great to see more shuttles in this forum. Looking very good this far. Keep it up and post more pictures and progress. George
  21. Thanks Guys, Its an old Revell B747-100/200, the top was srcatched using spare parts left over.
  22. Revell old kit - Boeing 747-300 Undercarriage view
  23. Pete, Your shuttle TPS weathering looks very realistic and spot on. Way to go Endeavour!!
  24. Mark, Here's additional photos that you might find useful for your Big Monogram 1/72 STS-51L build. Side view of the Airfix kit with minor upgrades. close up Challenger front section
