  1. Thanx, all for the input. I have decided on the ABD/Paasche combo and I'm going to throw in a cleaning station to double as a holder.

  6. All I can say is if they hope to come close to the Angels and T-Birds. They will need lots and lots of PRACTICE , PRACTICE, PRACTICE!!!. You don't just jump in and fly diamond formations that tight.
  7. I believe it's not actually paint, but a protective covering sort of like an anti-corrosive sealer

  9. I just wish it would not be referred to as the boneyard, I prefer to think of it as a stasis chamber My blood is USAF blue, I love the Eagle, Viper, and Raptor with all my heart, but there is much to be said about long distance calling, in other words the combo of Tomcat, its radar, and Phoenix. Ahhh to paint at 200 miles shoot down and 100+ just gives that feeling of once you get past the first volley, send whats left and we'll mop up with sparrows and winders and gun if necessary. However, looking at your radar screen and seeing nada, using the Mk 1 eyeball and seeing nada and suddenly hav

  11. Good Lord!!!,.....Call the commish..Somebody's been putting steroids in the Viper fuel.
  12. These pix were taken at an air show in Wisconsin a little while back, so I thought I'd share with you. I hope you enjoy These photos are courtesy of one of my best friends S. Kelleher, a Michigander
  13. I wonder if the "Flying Tigers" knew what they started when they first painted a sharkmouth on a P-40? Isn't it amazing how that cargo bird strangely resembles a C-141
  14. Being ex-USAF and an aircraft buff, my kids automatically fell in line to a degree and whenever I built a new model I explained to them what it was, if it was the same aircraft, but a different version I showed them what made it different (ex: F-16A/F16C) while at an airshow on March AFB walking down the static display line, my 8 y/o, said dad that's an F-16C right? I said yes, my 9 y/o said no it's an "A", I said no Dave's right. Jr. said no! I'm talking about the one on the other side of the hornet. To which a gentleman walking behind says "Mr., I don't know one from the other and your kids
  15. I attended an air show at Miramar, a few years back and one of the flying displays was a simulated aerial refueling. The tanker was an A-6 with a buddy pod hung, and a Tomcat. According to the narrator both aircraft were cooking along at 400kts roughly around 450mph. The Kitty was actually plugged into the basket, though no fuel was being transferred.
  16. I'm not sure if this will be what you are looking for, but you might try this site: http://www.sharpshooter-maj.com/html/twtd02.htm There are a few pics showing mer and ter locations. I hope the views are ok HTH
  17. Not a bad shot in the whole bunch, but that close up showing the airframe stiffeners is outstanding. That will really help with detail kit for the same. <_<
  18. One question,.............What in Hades is this ?, a boat or a plane, it has pontoons for water, but yet it has landing gear in the undercarriage. It looks like wings were removed at mid fuselage.
  19. Which of the choices do you find gives you the best results, Consider Cost, Ease of use, availability, Variety of Selection. For NMF Please give a short explanation, Also what PSI setting on your compressor gives you the smoothest finish without causing too much overspray.
  20. Nobody likes Hawk, Ben Wa, Elvis Q or JT, So what if Hawk got so wrapped up in combat that he didn't know the Allies had supposedly won the war. Waitaminnit, I don't like that series I LOVE IT. Just don't forget Hawk had a seaborne equal Wolf. Now if I just find me some Myx http://www.amazon.ca/exec/obidos/search-ha...=Mack%20Maloney
  21. The next time you go flying so to speak down the Hi-way; you just may want to consider who's watching  Rotorheads Be proud
  22. I'll tell ya what I think,............that you should pack it up real nice so nothing moves not even a dust particle and send it to me :D . Oh......excuse me; you meant what I think of the build; nothing short of excellent. The weathering is second to none. . Just goes to show it's not necessarily the kit, but the guy doing it. A great kit can look like dung in the hands of a crappy builder and a crappy kit can look like it's real in the hands of a great builder. this finished viper shows you ain't no crappy builder.
  23. Caesar, Chelsea OK, Stalin....Oh...HAIL NOOOO
