  1. In my prayers I will ask for the safe return of the EMT/FF and all those who are putting it all on the line to aid those are in need
  2. I'm just checking to see if anyone in Canada is being affected by the massive wildfires, living in SoCal I'm very aware of how fast, damaging and devastating they can be. I'm hoping and praying for a quick end to them and a fast and full recovery for all affected.
  3. I bought a bottle of Tamiya Primer, is it acrylic or lacquer based..does it work for all three types acrylic, enamel and lacquer based paint?. I'm asking because I need to hear from folks who've used it, not what the 'net says. We all know what a product is supposed to do isn't always what it does.
  4. WOW!!!...........and I thought the gentlemen scalers did some fantastic stuff....this is a cut above that.
  5. I'm with ya bro.....wan't another cold one?...it's my turn to go get'em. Modeling allows me to create my own private little world, where things are as I like them.
  6. Aha...thanks I was still sweating it out in S.E. Asia, counting down the days till my ride on a "Freedom Bird" heading east...for the land of the Big BX, :D B) , guess what I MADE IT!!!
  7. My camera was inside in its case and by the time I went in, got it ,and returned I thought it would all be over, well at least that's the way my luck runs <_< .
  8. If I had no other options I'd suspend them from the ceiling with very thin monofilament (fishing line); from the ceiling, on a wall, or on a shelf...with out some kind of cover they'll collect dust...and in IMHO that's another complaint from SWMBO about more work to be done...if she has to dust them off....and most non modelers do take the same care when cleaning a model as the builder does ;) .
  9. Congratulations Leicester City, your accomplishment cannot be understated, and this championship is now a part of history that will never be erased or forgotten. This is as good a feel good story as I've seen recently, TV couldn't write a better ending, I hope they make a movie of the season, I'll for sure get a copy.....for us Yanks, I'll take you back to a similar happening in '69...remember the "Miracle Mets".
  10. Your loved ones/family need you in many ways, your presence is a pillar in their lives. I agree that they shouldn't love you so much as to take away what independence you have, by over caring. You do need to be active and enjoy life, however to push the edge of the envelope or even go outside can make it hard on all parties; to look providence in the eye and spit can have sad consequences. I've had the same talk with my family and we came to a meeting in the middle, if they don't over love me, I won't go too far out on a limb.
  11. Since the mid 50's Godzilla and other giant reptiles and ? monsters have destroyed Tokyo and surrounding cities in Japan numerous times, recently he somehow made it across the Pacific and laid waste to SF, prior to that a close relative of his (female this time) leveled part of NYC; hold on that's just the start, Loki and an alien army again laid waste to parts of NYC, not done yet, the Scarlet Witch messed with the Hulks mind and he and Iron man ( on steroids ) did a number on another part of NYC. Ultron and his cronies did some damage too. Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. (actually Hydra goons) once
  12. If you tell us you scratchbuilt that drivers seat....I'M OUTTA HERE  B) , great progress so far......looking forward to Le Grande Finale :) .
  13. Great job I second what has been said already, and I'd like to add it looks menacing;like a hungry shark stalking prey.
  14. Thanx J, I've been doing research looking for any indication that it was used by the 49th even if only for a minute...but it looks like I'm correct in saying it was never used by the 49th as a tail code.
  15. The most frequent was once a week. SWMBO has her own mix, we don't use the stuff the sell in Dept. stores.
  16. At the introduction of USAF tail codes as we know them, the first were assigned to wings and broke down to individual squadrons ex: on Holloman it was HB-7th TFS, HC-8thTFS, HD-9thTFS, and HE-417TFS, and later they all went to HO. I saw on a website where Holloman had a HA code never while I was assigned there did I see the tail code HA. So me fine former fellow TAC rats...did I miss something, was there before my arrival an HA tail code for one of the squadrons?. I'm asking because our birds traveled a lot, and someone may have seen one of the 49th's Phantoms with an HA tail code when it was
  17. SWMBO and I love nature and do our best to help it when possible. SWMBO has hummingbird feeders; well had one somehow broke and now temporarily we have only one on the rear deck; she refilled the remaining one and I went outside to get warmed up using natures heater, the house was a little cool, so economics took me outside....that's when it started I hear this buzzing and holy moly...I'm in the middle of a real furball, probably 7/8 hummingbirds were all around that feeder, some flashing red throats and chasing after others I'm not sure who was who, but it was eye opening...they were flying a
  18. Zvezda has an inside track....it's probably because western modelmakers need to green some palms, let's face it, Mikoyan-Gurevich, and Sukhoi are still subject to Kremlin controls and they may not have been so easy to let go with even the basic prints. A lot of intel can be gleaned from prints in the right hands.
  19. Dateline - December 16, 1773 Bernard Flaw......We have breaking news from Boston for that we go to Wolfgang Shiffzer in our Headline News Room..Whatta ya got Wolf Wolfgang - Bernard we have scattered reports of an indian attack details are sketchy...I'm in contact with Cristan Imindadoor...Cristan what can you tell us Cristan - Wolfgang I've just arrived and I've interviewed several of the locals and it seems a large contingent of indians made their way past the guards in the harbor to launch a massive attack on the ships in the harbor; though no one is sure why some reports say a hundred
  20. If online shops want to know how to accumulate a large repeat customer base that gets larger by the day...Gkwan/Sprue Bros. has the template.......and the end result is [Customer Satisfaction].
  21. About 2.5 years ago or so, I bought an Avionix/Blackbox F-16 resin cockpit, and have had shaky knees until a few projects on the bench stalled so I decided now is as good a time as any to give it a whirl* (see steps). Opened box and inspected it again and 1. placed in a cut in half plastic alcohol bottle 2. immersed the parts in Super Clean overnight 3. removed and with a soft brush scrubbed the parts until solutions turned soapy/foamy 4. drained and rinsed the parts and allowed to dry overnight 5. primed the parts using Mr. Resin Primer Surfacer allowed to dry overnight in prep for pai
  22. I'm sure lots of things will be said that will be interesting to a lot of folks who attend, but having been there and hearing people who made decisions that affected me/us on a daily basis from thousands of miles away isn't going to change the way things turned out or could have and the way things really are. The restraints placed on this forum will not permit me to state my true opinions of how they performed their [duties]. I applaud those who allowed Stormin' Norman to do his job without constraints or restraints.
  23. I've had time to think about it, and make it short and sweet. I build models because I admire the creations and their capabilities...and at times would imagine myself at the controls...at times I still do; primarily aircraft at times cars. The model railroading I do, gets into a little different tangent What's your reason?.
  24. Congrats....each new day will bring many more wonderful moments..each better than the last. May her life be filled with wonder and joy.
  25. RIP Capt. Kleiss, Fair winds and following seas....my condolences to those who knew you best; your legacy speaks for itself.
